Mudaliar‎

[edit]

Stop readding people that don't have their own Wikipedia articles. It violates several guidelines, including Reliable Sources and verifiability. AND stop calling it vandalism. 98.248.32.178 (talk) 17:51, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 01:02, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Mudaliars‎. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- The Red Pen of Doom 01:09, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images

[edit]

It is NOT anyone's responsibility to "add those images to those pages rather deleting" - you uploaded copyrighted images (with incorrect copyright tags), which are immediately deleted from Wikipedia. Check out Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Image use policy which are introductions to Wiki image policy. Repeated uploading of incorrectly licensed copyrighted materials can lead to an editor getting blocked. Skier Dude (talk) 02:17, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide sources

[edit]

Please provide reliable sources for the content you add to articles such as List of Mudaliars. Without proper sourcing, content can be challenged and removed. See our guidelines such as WP:V and WP:PEOPLE. Also note that content added must be persented in a neutral point of view. -- The Red Pen of Doom 22:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Dr.G.Viswanathan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File:Active vijay.jpg

[edit]

Hello
I'm afraid I had to delete File:Active vijay.jpg, which you uploaded, since it was apparently copied from somewhere on the Internet. However, in almost all circumstances we can only accept freely licensed images. Since you do not own copyright to that image, you can't release it under such a license, and it couldn't thus remain here. By default, this is true for all other images you find somewhere on the Internet, unless explicitly and credibly noted otherwise.
If you have questions about this, feel free to ask, either at WP:Media copyright questions, or on my talk page.
Kind regards, Amalthea 23:13, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Dr.G.Viswanathan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

Re: do explain

[edit]

How to upload an image. The entire procedure is clumsy and is it possible for me to snap photos of all celebrities and have my own copy right. brief me the possible way to upload an image, how to find it is copyright unprotected...§§15:41, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Rajirocks (talk)

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. I'd think the procedure is pretty well explained at Special:Upload. I don't know which country you're from, but yes, in most legal systems I assume that if you personally take an image of someone, then you own copyright of that image. There might be other rights involved that may can apply though, that will depend on the laws of the country you're in.
If you have the opportunity to take a picture of a celebrity, then I would recommend you take a whole series, and upload one of them in full resolution, with full EXIF metadata, preferably at commons:Special:Upload.
I agree that uploading pictures properly can be a bit difficult, if copyright and licensing questions are ignored. The one you previously uploaded was already available, in a slightly modified form, at several places in the web, for example here. It was also of low resolution, and both factors combined almost always indicate that the uploader simply found it on the internet, and uploaded it. Such images however are hardly ever suitable on Wikipedia since they infringe the rights of the copyright owner.
I'd gladly help you if you have any more detailed questions. Amalthea 19:05, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Rajirocks! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 317 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
