I thought that this was a really thorough history of the X Club. You very nicely go through first its background, then its formation, its influence, and finally its decline. One small criticism is in regards to the idea of an "unbiased" Wikipedia article; there are a few times throughout the paper where you make general opinion statements without citing a particular person who made that statement. For example, the sentence in which you say "its members are believed to have wielded much influence over scientific thought" may actually go against Wikipedia's policies concerning bias within an article because it makes it seem as though everybody believed that the members wielded influence over scientific thought. The idea is totally acceptable to say, because many do believe that it was true; however, for Wikipedia, I am pretty sure that you need to cite or quote a particular historian, writer, etc. who made that comment, rather than saying that it was "believed" by the general population. Other than that, this was an overall great paper!128.36.38.249 04:09, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Jenna Friedenthal
Peer Revision Nick This article was very well written detailing the creation fo the X Club and things concerning its influence and rise and fall. One thing is that in the main sentence you mention natural selection and then academic liberalism but do not go into detail about the effects of the club on Natural Selection. I think the inclusion of this would help make the article better.
This was another comprehensive article and I thought that the introduction as well as the separation of the rest of the article into different headings was done well. The separate sections were separated well but I feel that there is a little more completeness that is needed for some areas. For example, I did not feel that the “social connections” setting was complete so if more work could be done to add as much to this as possible I think that would help. I feel that this is a topic that may not have much information on it and if that is all that is able to be found, then that is fine but certain sections may need a little more work. I also would like to see some more relation to the modern world and the lasting impact that the X club has today. There was a lot of information about the “x club” in the 19th century but there was not much about its impact, if any today. I think that a little more information about its impact today would be helpful to making the article absolutely complete.

[edit]I thought the artcle on X Club was very informative and very well written. You broke up each subject well for the most part, and your introduction clearly stated what you were talking about. It gave the reader the quick overview that was needed. The part about the dining clubs, I thought, could have used more explanination to the overall importance of the article. It seemed to be a little disconnected from the rest of the article, and some what confusing about why certain things were mentioned. Overall, I thought this was a very interesting and a very well written paper.
