www.EarTutor.com is a music web service developed by Polish company called Szwarcsoft. It contains online Ear Training exercises and music theory materials. It was developed using a Adobe Flash (Flex). It is Web Based and works on variety of operating systems like Windows, Linux, Mac OS. Only requirements is to have a modern Web Browser capable of running Adobe Flash swf files. Since it's a on-line application, user always works on latest version of the software.

www.EarTutor.com is has following sections:

It contains a blog under which music theory materials are posted. Real life instrument sounds are used in www.EarTutor.com. Instruments used were Piano, Guitar, Flute. User answers are stored and displayed in statistical charts. Current online exercises are:

  • Intervals Singing
  • Intervals Comparison
  • Intervals Test (Exam simulation)
  • Intervals Recognition
  • Chords Singing
  • Chords Recognition
  • Chords Test (Exam simulation)
  • Rhythm Element Dictation

Software is under constant development following Agile Software Development methodology. New features and enhancements are added regularly.

History

It was first launched in September 2011 in Poland under www.GimnastykaSluchu.pl brand. In Jan 2012 it was translated to English and branded as www.EarTutor.com. Development was partially funded with European Union grant.
