Flags
[edit]Welcome to WikiP. We need to ask you to please do not put flags in the infoboxes for films. Per WP:FLAG and long standing WP:CONSENSUS of the film project we haven't used flags in out articles for more tnan 5 years. You cooperation in this will be appreciated. Thanks again and happy editing. MarnetteD | Talk 21:02, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- No problem at all. If you have questions please feel free to ask at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 21:07, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- You had used IMDb as a reference for that assertion. Please be aware that we do not use that website as a source. Like wikipedia they are an open website that can be edited by anyone and their information is often wrong. If you can find a WP:RS that mentions WG then you can add it but be aware that we only put the production country in the infobox not countries that financed the film. - Thank you for the cute kitty. There are lots of ins and outs about editing here and no one person knows all there is to know. Please be aware that I won't be able to answer all of your questions. There are lots of places that you can go to get assistance and here are a few
- You might also want to take a look at the WP:TUTORIAL. Thanks again. MarnetteD | Talk 03:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello.
[edit]Hey, it's me, Interlude 65. Sorry I took so long, I was busy doing my new pages patroller duties. Anyway, in response to your need of help with citations, you've come to the right place. So let's get started.
Now, you know that you use bare URLs for citations, right? Well, those kinds of citations are prone to link rot, so here's the syntax to use for proper citations:
cite web |title=Title goes here |date=Date goes here |location=Location goes here |url=URL goes here.
Then you'll need to put these brackets ({{) before the "cite web" and after the "|url=URL goes here." You'll also need to put "ref" which will be in between these (<>) before the first bracket and after the last bracket. But for the "ref" after the last bracket, you'll have to put a backslash (/) before the "ref" but still put them in between (<>).
After you do all of those steps, your citation should look something like this:
But in order for the citations to display in your References section, you'll have to put "Reflist" in the section in between two brackets. This is what the citation I made will look like in the References section, as it will display all of the information I put in it:

Conclusion
[edit]So there you go! You are now ready to add proper citations to your articles. By the way, the proper citations used for Wikipedia articles are called "inline citations". Hope this helped! Thanks, Interlude 65 15:17, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
