DYK for Musa McKim
[edit]On 6 February 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Musa McKim, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Musa McKim painted a mural in a U.S. Forest Service building along with her husband, abstract artist Philip Guston? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Musa McKim. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Your GA nomination of Spanish Hill
[edit]The article Spanish Hill you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Spanish Hill for things which need to be addressed. - Thanks, Gerda Arendt!-RHM22 (talk) 18:26, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Gerda is fine with me ;) - I list my plans on QAI, but you probably can remember without a crutch ;) - I have a GAN open: BWV 165, will add but nominated because sometimes it takes ages, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:30, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- I will take a look at that later today. I'm between articles at the moment, having mostly completed 1804 dollar, so I have time enough for a GAN review.-RHM22 (talk) 18:43, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Kudos for your work at Castaing machine. The article is one of the best DYK I've seen. Keep up the good work! ComputerJA (☎ • ✎) 02:22, 19 February 2015 (UTC) |
- ComputerJA: Thank you for this thoughtful note, and for reading the Castaing article(s). I told another editor that I would write an article on this rather obscure subject around 2011, and it took until 2015 to get it done! I am very glad that you enjoyed it.-RHM22 (talk) 02:43, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
- The DYK folk rarely appreciate quality though, most of my GAs end up at the bottom of the DYK section and some start class article barely 5kb will be top..♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:58, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Talk:O heilges Geist- und Wasserbad, BWV 165 GA template
[edit]Hello RHM22, while assessing some articles for WP:GER I noticed this article has a substituted GA-template - see this diff: [1]. It also seems to lack oldid and a topic. Should template:GA not be transcluded instead of a substitution? I am not active in GA-reviewing, just mentioning the change to be safe: Gerda Arendt mentioned to bring the article to FAC and I am not sure, if later FA bots can handle this situation. If the substitution is no problem, please ignore this post ;). GermanJoe (talk) 06:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- GermanJoe: Hm. To be honest, I'm not sure. It has been years since I reviewed a GAN, but I decided to do a couple in my spare time while I was 'in between' writing articles. I followed the instructions given on the GAN reviewing page. Taking a closer look, I think the problem occurred when I used the category abbreviations "Arts" instead of "Music." I'll change it now and see if it works.-RHM22 (talk) 14:15, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- GermanJoe Oops, never mind. I looked again, and apparently "Music" isn't one of the usable abbreviations. I can't imagine why the GA header isn't working. I'll look into it some more. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.-RHM22 (talk) 14:20, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- I'd suggest to remove the whole tmbox template and try a completely new transclusion (without "subst:") of the GA template with all parameters. If that doesn't work, something within the GA-talkpage content may be messing with the template structure. But that's all wild guessing (without deeper knowledge). GermanJoe (talk) 14:26, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Well, I know for certain that I didn't use 'subst' the first time (I just copied it from the GAN instructions page, which doesn't use it), but I have an idea which might work.-RHM22 (talk) 14:29, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- GermanJoe: I think it's all right now. What are your thoughts?-RHM22 (talk) 14:36, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Looks like a parameter is still not accepted from the template. I'll try to fix it - have to check 1-2 details. GermanJoe (talk) 14:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- GermanJoe That is strange. I followed the instructions exactly as they're listed on the GAN page (having just double and triple checked). I wonder if the changes are supposed to be made by Legobot.-RHM22 (talk) 14:43, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Yup, just checked Legobot tasks. You can add the oldid yourself apparently or leave it out, if it's missing Legobot will add it, whenever it comes along again :). GermanJoe (talk) 14:49, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Makes sense. I think Legobot was mad at me because I insulted him on Gerda's talk page.-RHM22 (talk) 15:07, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- You didn't. Worse: you reverted them with a notice that might be understood as insulting ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:46, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I can't say any more on the matter, lest I risk breaching the interaction ban Legobot created against me.-RHM22 (talk) 23:52, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Enthiran
[edit]Hi, any chance you could give Enthiran a read and copyedit? It's currently at FAC. I've given it a major edit this morning to improve the readability. Could still benefit from a great copyeditor, I can't think of any others aside from Eric who was alerted about it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:55, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- Certainly! I will give it a look this afternoon. I'm not sure if you could place my copyediting abilities on the same as level as Eric's, though.-RHM22 (talk) 13:14, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- Dr. B: I'm mostly finished with my copyedit, but I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to support. I suspect that there are also some reference issues, and that's something that I'm not really able to fix. My recommendation, unfortunately, has to be to withdraw the nomination at present until such time as all outstanding issues are addressed.-RHM22 (talk) 18:33, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking at it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:37, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Ssven2: I'm responding here to keep from cluttering SandyGeorgia's page. Are you saying that you want all the references standardized so they all say "Author (date) "Title" Retrieved 2015 03 15"? If so, the only way to do that is to use the "author" parameter in the cite web template. Here's an example:[1]

Hi RHM, seeing what Sandy said on Enthiran, I'm concerned about how Shah Rukh Khan is going to be received. It was nominated a month or two ago and I addressed many of the issues with length and the readability, but I may have missed the minor glitches and overlooked certain things. Bollyjeff seems to have further improved it in response to the PR. Is it possible in the next week or 10 days you could give it a read? As I was just saying to Eric it gets over a million hits a year, and I think you have to bear in mind that he's extremely popular and wins awards for most films, which makes neutral writing difficult! I think it's in pretty good shape, but tell me what you think. Cheers.♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:27, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Dr. Blofeld. Sure, I'll take a look. In spite of his popularity, I've never heard of this fellow, so I don't have any viewpoints going in. That said, I don't have any problem with an article reading as mostly positive if the sources read as such. A lot of people seem to misunderstand the NPOV policy, so many inexperienced editors will complain if an article isn't balanced with 50/50 positive and negative.-RHM22 (talk) 19:46, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. Yes I know, the full quote from the Los Angeles Times critic is "the biggest movie star in the world you might not have heard of" or something like that. It probably seems a tall order for western editors to believe, but if you consider the population numbers in Asia and diaspora communites worldwide, his films might actually be seen by more people than even Tom Cruise or Will Smith. Seems hard to believe I know but I think it's true! My main concern is the neutrality of it, I don't want it to seem too gushing or POV and read like a promotion about him, but it's very difficult writing about somebody who wins awards for nearly every film and of that level of success! Bollyjeff's goal I think is to get it to TFA on Khan's 50th birthday in November, no doubt his article will get a massive surge of traffic then anyway.
- BTW if you're planning on taking any more coin articles to FAC I'm more than happy to leave comments about them before the FAC, not sure if you do peer reviews though. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:51, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- It seems as though Western celebrities are pretty well known worldwide, but Westerners aren't often familiar with non-English speaking celebrities. It's a shame that many very good films aren't well known here in America because they weren't filmed in English. Given the huge population of India and the popularity of native cinema, it would not surprise me one bit to learn that Shah Rukh Khan's movies are seen by more people than Tom Cruise's.
- Thank you for that offer. I don't usually do PRs, but I do have an article that's mostly ready for FAC after 1804 dollar: Susan B. Anthony dollar. If you feel like looking over that, I'd certainly appreciate another set of eyes, since Wehwalt and I are the only editors to look it over so far.-RHM22 (talk) 20:07, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Will look at Susan this coming week, enjoy what is left of the weekend!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:37, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, and you as well! I will start going over the Khan article as soon as I get some free time.-RHM22 (talk) 21:04, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Would one of you two have time to look at my GAN Requiem (Reger)? Reger dedicated it to the victims of the war, I would like to follow, - I mentioned Yngvadottir on my user page, but there are so many others on both sides --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:21, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Please feel free to revert, reword or replace anything I've done, and you can also let any other authors know that as well if you'd like. - Thanks, Ssven2 for the kind note. I'm glad to assist with your article. It had most of the bones in place, but it just needed a few bureaucratic fixes here and there.-RHM22 (talk) 18:51, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
I have opened the 2nd PR as the article's first FAC is now withdrawn. Feel free to leave comments. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 13:51, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry about the delay, Ssven2. I will look into it soon. I don't think I have much to suggest, because I did most of it in my copyedit. Someone with experience with references should take a look.-RHM22 (talk) 05:16, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
SandyGeorgia has said in the PR that WP:NBSP, WP:PUNC, and MOS:CURRENCY issues are present in the article. Do you know anyone who can be able to resolve it? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:17, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ssven2: I can't think of anyone off-hand who has an expertise with MOS issues. Nikkimaria is an expert with references and probably has a pretty good knowledge of MOS stuff, so you could try her, but I don't know if she has the time because she is very busy in a few different areas, I think. I will take another look after I get done with Khan; I might be able to spot a couple. My best advice would be to read the relevant MOS sections linked by SandyGeorgia and then go over your article with the metaphorical fine-toothed comb. If you fix most of them yourself, someone will usually come by and fix the ones you may have missed here and there. When it's a big job, a lot of people are too busy to take it all on.-RHM22 (talk) 13:24, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
I have resolved your comments at the PR. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 06:19, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
- I checked, and everything looks good enough to me. I'm still not sure how FAC will react to Rai's name being used like that.-RHM22 (talk) 19:57, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
TFAR
[edit]Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/Seated Liberty dollar, needs you for the wording ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:42, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Gerda: Thank you for nominating the article! Sie sind ein Lichtstrahl in der Dunkelheit sind (please excuse my awful grammar). I've reworded the requested blurb a bit. I hope I have not violated any TFAR guidelines by supporting it, as the main author of the article. I've never been involved in that area before, so it is a bit foreign to me.-RHM22 (talk) 15:03, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- All fine, especially the blurb wording, - I was in a rush and couldn't carefully evaluate the content, - it's so tricky to get below 1200 chars, - and yes, your own support is wanted even! - Go to the area more often and support what you like. I never oppose, lack of support is my oppose. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:18, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Any interest in swapping this for the mission patch (CSS crop of the obverse only)? A recent upload...--Godot13 (talk) 01:47, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
- Godot13: Thanks for the suggestion, but I'd probably prefer to leave the original mission patch in there for now, since the medallion is slightly different (notice the olive branch in the eagle's talons). That's a very interesting item, though. Do you know who designed it? I'm sending you an e-mail with some more information.-RHM22 (talk) 03:22, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

- Yup! Susan B. Anthony dollar is up at FAC, since 1804 dollar. There's no hurry for you to look; as you know, FACs usually take a fair bit of time. I'm taking a look at Irataba now, and I'm sure I will support.-RHM22 (talk) 22:30, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
- Dr. Blofeld: By the way, have you or Rationalobserver checked Newspapers.com for information about Irataba? If not, let me know and I'll do a search to see what I can find.-RHM22 (talk) 22:32, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yup, I looked through it, and also several other news archives. A lot of the sources seemed to be related more to the Irataba Society and his arrival in New York (duplicating what had already been said). Still, you're most welcome to try to glean something further. We hope and myself managed to glean a fair bit more on the Tower House even at this stage. I'll take a look at Susan next week, upon quick glance looks the usual high quality.♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:38, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm sure you've extracted everything of value from Newspapers.com; I only asked because not everyone has access. I would anyone with a sufficient number of contributions to sign up. I'll check some other authors, but like I said, I'm sure you've already gleaned everything of value.-RHM22 (talk) 23:18, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
