Another One bites the Dust

You bastard my edit was very constructive!

Yea up yours dude!!! – Waffleking420 13:33, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

message of some sort

( This person thinks he has the right to edit the works of others when he himself swears and uses vulgarities. Do you know how vulgar that "b" word that you just used is? You claim too that your edit is constructive...hahahahahaha...why can't I claim my edits are constructive too? Dear god, with editors like you...no wonder wikipedia is what is is...for gods sake...buck up....i am also a little sissygirl who can't take it. Barnstar

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I, Chrislk02, award you this anti vandalism barnstar for your hard anti-vandalism work. Your reports to WP:AIV are always impeccable with properly warned, currently active vandals. Your hard work is much aprpeciated and has not gone unnoticed! Keep up the excellent work. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:14, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
We all start a little rough around the edges! However, you have done an excellent job adapting. I love seeing your reprots at WP:AIV because I know they are good! Keep up the excellent work i could see you with the mop someday. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
a.) I have never written a featured article b.) I know nothing about image licesning. I got my start in anti-vandalism. I was just lettign you know that sometime in the future, after youve been here a little longer, I might be interested in nominating you. If you ever feel that you are ready or would like a nom, feel free to drop by my page and let me know. I would gladly review your stuff and let you know what I think! Thanks again for the hard work. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:31, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

2007/2 16116

You've only been here two months!! 16k edits in one month! Wow, you have no life. Keep up the great work, Qxz. I am considering nominating you for adminship, but I know many people would oppose someone who's only been here for such a short period of time. I'll offer in April-May, if someone else hasn't already. Keep up the great work. I appreciate the AIV reports (although Chris beats me on a lot of them). =) Nishkid64 17:25, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I know I have already given you an award but in light of your edit count and the length of tiem youve been here coupled with your accuracy at WP:AIV, I have another award for you. Here it goes. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
The Exceptional Newcomer Award
I, Chrislk02, award you this exceptional newcomer award. In your 2 months here you have shown amazing potential with your impeccable WP:AIV reports and your massive edit count (close to 19k in a single month). You truly are an exceptional newcomer! -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 16:30, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Question about starting projects or finding one

As I am still eagerly chipping away at the colossal amount of articles that need assessment for WPBIOs - is there a project already out there for this? Or is it possible to start a project specifically for assessing this huge backlog of articles (138,000+ that have been tagged for the WPBiography project). On my own I calculate that does 200 assessments a day it will take me 3.5 years. Not exactly fun. With 20 people doing 200 edits a day it would take 34 days - ideally it would be 100 people working on this project, taking a little under 7 days. Is it possible to start a project solely for the purpose of getting through this backlog? --Ozgod 18:40, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

I Agree with Nishkid64

You have made more edits in one month than I have made in 6 !!!! Now for the substance of this message, you have enough edits in the Wikipedia namespace that you should be familiar with the policies of this wiki. What I am getting at is do you want me to nominate you for adminship in about 1 month. Please tell me how you feel about this on my talk page, it's the "trip" part of my signature :D ~Steptrip 14:19, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

What I meant by the # of Edits in the wikipedia namespace is that it will show people who think that you have not been here long enough that you are more familiar with policy than they are. As for the oddness of my question, I don't understand why you think my nomination is odd when other people are trying to nominate you for RfA. (I'm not fully awake yet, don't take this as sarcasm.) ~Steptrip 14:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Good point, sorry for any confusion I may have caused. ~Steptrip 14:43, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Edit to Orgy

Either delete the first paragraph of the Orgy page or move the group sex material to the Group sex page. As it stands, "Orgy" and "group sex" are far too redundant to deserve separate pages. I was being helpful by increasing the uniqueness of each page.Dogface 19:03, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Comment from Aguilar 2007

Your definition of vandalism is wack.

Just because you don't like what's being said, it doesn't make it vandalism. You don't know all the facts, and are not an authority on ANYTHING besides editing wikipedia to suit your biased agendas.

Media literacy

The edit was relevant, some spammer had copied and pasted the article onto itself over and over. I removed the copies. Chamale 20:16, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

explanation!

i recently made a clean up (and yet there is still room for more clean up though) on the links section of the "israel" article. right after it the updates were reverted, and i got a vandalizm alert!!

a. why is this vandalizm?!?!?! b. if you take the steps to alert on vandalizm, why don`t you state and explain your opinion that this is vandalizm?! that is very ignorant behavior! amos 20:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

ALSO I ask you to retract and apologize for the warning you illegitimately posted on my talk page or point out SPECIFICALLY what kind of vandalizm i made with my updates to the "israel" article. amos 20:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

There is not even a tiny chance that it was me who put this text on the page. this is a bug in the wikipedia system without any doubt. someone edit that page with this sentence and i edited the links at the same time. wikipedia administration put both changes under my name. not even 0.001% chance it was written under my edit. amos 20:53, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Erk! – Qxz 22:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I miscounted a bit. Today, you edited for about 15 hours, getting between 1000 and 1500 edits (maybe around 1250). The Barnstars aren't being devalued - you are devaluing every editor on Wikipedia there is. If you go at this rate for a year and half (I think that is the average time until a succesful RFA), you'd have 50000 edits. So, are you interested in be a sysop? When you reach 3 months ,maybe, you'll pass the RFA. The Evil Clown 22:29, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Just to let you know, there is a line of people who will be ready to nominate when the time comes, lol. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 22:30, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm in there! The Evil Clown 22:34, 28 February 2007 (UTC) Qxz! It's fully OK to not wan't to be a sysop, but when I do RC patrol, I'm beaten by you at least a tenth of the time. The only reason people haven't come to you is because of time. I honestly believe, after being beaten so constantly, you would pass right now. The Evil Clown 22:38, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I know, it is relatively tough, but I believed you were a sysop until I saw your page, and newcomer barnstar. That was one of the biggest surprises I encountered on Wikipedia. – Evilclown93 22:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Editprotected edit request at Template: talk:User5

Since you perm-protected {{User5}}, I should let you know I've requested an edit, at Template talk:User5, to add {{rfcu}} at the end for reference by Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets, where {{User5}} is extensively used. -- Ben 04:50, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I didn't actually protect {{user5}}; apart from anything else I'm not an administrator. I merely noticed the talk page didn't have {{permprot}} – as seems to be standard for protected templates – so I added it. You can see here that the template was actually protected by Luna Santin (talk contribs blocks protects deletions moves); contact him for an explanation, or alternatively just wait until your {{editprotected}} is noticed – Qxz 05:20, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

That's quite all right. I have far too many barnstars anyway. Though for future reference, see Wikipedia:Barnstars. Thanks – Qxz 08:45, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
If you say so. Haha. Thank you very much for the link. Bsroiaadn 08:48, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

The failure of my counter to detect your reverts as automatic were due to the edit summary saying "Revert edit(s)..." rather than "Reverted edit(s)...". Out of all the revert scripts I'd ever seen up to this point, only navigation popups started with any word other than 'Reverted', and I had a special case in for them. I've added your summary to the counter as a script/tool revert (I guess you didn't type in all those edit summaries by hand!); if you bypass your cache it should work for you, at least on IE. (What browser did it fail to recognize your edit summaries at all on?) --ais523 09:22, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't have a copy of Opera to test on, nor a way to install it (I'm stuck using IE because I don't have administrative rights on the computer I'm editing on), so I can't really look in to the problem. (By the way, don't try to run the 'last 1000'/'last 2000' tool on your own edits; that can screw up quite badly on vandalfighters because they edit so many different pages once each, and has been known to crash my computer before in such cases.) Hope that helps! --ais523 09:37, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

I've converted image 5 here to the PNG format, as requested by Remember the dot on its image description page. Perhaps you could replace the fifth image with Image:Qxz-ad5.png? I can't replace it myself because you protected the page with the .css suffix. (Unfortunately, the PNG format can't do animations, so it's just one image that can be changed.) --ais523 09:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

As for why PNG is preferred over GIF, I'm not entirely sure (I think it's a combination of copyright idealism, and the availability of tools to recompress, etc.), but Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload (and less clearly Wikipedia:Image use policy) both recommend PNG over GIF. --ais523 15:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Can you help me?

I saw you patrolling the RC and I want to do the same. I already have Vandal Fighter 3.5 and VoA Revert tool. But the revert tool is appending the phrase "TWINKLE" to my edit summaries. How can I stop it from adding that? Or, if you have better tools, please recommend them to me. Thanks. - Microtony 09:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Damnit

You screwed up the archiving on WT:A, hiding two pages and half a month of comments. In the future, make sure that you don't lose links when you change between schemes. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 13:28, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Wh, no biggie, I got pissed because my comment vanished and I thought someone had gone maliciously deleting something. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 13:36, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed you tagged this as "should be PNG", and indeed someone's gone and made a PNG of it. There is in fact a reason why I've uploaded it as a GIF – as you can probably guess from the name, it's part of a series (6 in total), some of which are animated and some of which aren't. I've designed a template to display one of them at random on my talk page – and writing such a template is a lot easier if the images are all identically named except for the number. So since some of them had to be GIFs, I used GIF for all of them. If you would prefer that I used PNG for all non-animated images, I can rewrite the template, though file size and image quality don't seem to be a concern. Thanks – Qxz 14:24, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, I would much prefer that you set a good example by using the PNG and SVG formats instead of the GIF format. But seeing as it's for your personal talk page, it's not something I'm going to get too upset about. —Remember the dot (t) 17:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

What has happened with the Image:Qxz-ad5.gif (5th image) of the ad? How come I no longer see it? Never mind. —Meteoroid » 03:49, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Twinkle summaries

Good point, I assumed (wrongly) that the first was just... a mistake. TW lets you flag as AGF, Vandal, or just generic. I'll start using the generic, it's smarter--you're right... Sorry. - Denny 07:35, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

No problem, I'm going to use the generic RV tag for all the borderline ones like that. And for RC, its... oddly relaxing. - Denny 07:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
