User talk:Quixotichoya
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Quixotichoya, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Justin Michael Williams, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.
Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! GPL93 (talk) 19:01, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Justin Michael Williams
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Justin Michael Williams, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. [edit]Hello Quixotichoya. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Quixotichoya. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Quixotichoya|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Praxidicae (talk) 19:57, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Quixotichoya: Just a reminder about the note above in case you did not see it, you may not edit until you've answered this question. Praxidicae (talk) 20:16, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
Oh hi @Praxidicae:! Response from Quixotichoya to Praxidicae: I have not ever nor do I expect to receive compensation for my edits. I've been making sporadic edits on Wikipedia for ten years, mostly related to gay authors or activists who I've seen in the real world but haven't seen as represented on this platform. Apologies that I didn't respond to this first before I contested. Thanks for your help with this all! Quixotichoya (talk) 20:42, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for answering. Do you have any connection to the subjects you've written about, specifically Stefani Bulsara as they started editing just after you create that article and uploaded the photo used in the article. Praxidicae (talk) 20:44, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
@Praxidicae: Apologies if I'm using the ping function wrong. I've read Stefani Bulsara's book Radio Ga Ga, I really enjoyed it and then I started following her on social media. After setting up her wiki page, I contacted her and shared it with her. Since then, I've been teaching her how to edit wikipedia to empower her to make her own edits in the future (not very well, I might add). I guess I have a conflict of interest with her page now, so I'm happy to not edit her page ever again.
- Thank you for your honesty and sorry if the warnings came off harsh but we deal with a lot of spam and editors who just want to publish their clients. I would strongly suggest you read WP:NPOV and rewrite the articles. If you'd like, I can remove the tag and put them in draft space where you can also put it through a review with experienced editors to avoid tags like those that I placed in the future. Praxidicae (talk) 21:00, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
@Praxidicae: Thanks for your help and thanks for the neutral point of view article. I'll share that with Stefani as well. I'll rewrite these articles with that in mind. If you could remove the tags, that would be great. They were super scary to see! Thanks for encouraging me to become a better wiki editor

I have left you several messages politely asking you to respond to this, which is required.
