Texas v. USC

[edit]
  • Hi Quiller, thanks for your note on my Talk page. The 1995 Cornhuskers have definitely been compared to the 2005 Longhorns. Whether it was before or after the end of the season does not seem to be material. An encyclopedia must take the long view. Comparisons made after the end of the season are at least as valid as those made during the season, probably more so. Whatever happened to the 05 Trojans, anyway?  :-) Seriously though, Wikipedia thrives on references, so if you can find a mainstream media reference comparing the 95 Huskers to the 05 Trojans, feel free to add it in. I'll help you create the footnote if you don't know how we do that. Again, welcome the Wikipedia. Oh, and please end your comments on Talk/Discussion pages with 4 tildes, like this ~~~~. That makes it a lot easier to reply to you. Best, Johntex\talk 04:19, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Again, I like your recent change to the article - mentioning both teams. Again, Wikipedia thrives on references, so it would be great to find a website or an article that we can point people to concerning the comparisons. Even better would be one with some facts and not just opinion. I see you created a user page - you may want to use Lincoln, Nebraska. Again, it would be helpful if you put the 4 tildes at the end of your messages on Talk pages. Best, Johntex\talk 05:44, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sounds great about looking for a reference. Again, I'll help you correctly format it if you need help. No problem at all about the signature, there is only about a million things to learn around here. I've been here over a year and I've got just over 999,900 things to go! Johntex\talk 06:39, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I just popped over to your website. Cool web design! I'm really sorry to hear about Maggie. That sucks. She looks just like Annie, who is curled up next to me right now. Johntex\talk 06:43, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Very elegant change! I'd like to set-up my Xbox to run 100 simulations of the '95 Huskers against the '05 Horns - but all that would prove is which team was programmed to be better in the game - which wouldn't prove that the game makers got it right. If settling things on the field is the truest indication of which team is better, I'll let my mind drift back to the '06 '96 Horns vs the '06 '96 Huskers.  :-) That still stands as my favorite upset of all time. Johntex\talk 21:49, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oops. Yes, of course I meant the '96 Big 12 Championship game. Does Nebraska have USC on their schedule for 2006? Johntex\talk 21:58, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ah-hah. I didn't realize Big Red had the Trojans on the schedule. What is the all-time record between those two? Of course, I'll be rooting for Nebraska - Nothing against the men of Troy, but I always support the conference in non-conference games. Johntex\talk 22:07, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:46, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
