Vandalism

[edit]

Did you read the edit that I reverted? It was pretty clearly vandalism.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Naval_Air_Station_Key_West&diff=prev&oldid=666104815

Naval Base Key West was reopened just prior to the United States' entry into World War II to support Navy destroyers, submarines, patrol craft and PBY flying boat and amphibious aircraft.

changed to

Naval Base Key West was reopened just prior to the United States' entry into World War II to support Navy destroyers, super nuclear submarines (SNS) which were built in the keys and one sank off the coast killing 400 men, patrol craft and PBY flying boat and amphibious aircraft.

Sigh. I didn't add information. The top version is what I reverted it to. The bottom version is what YOU reverted it to. Knock off the passive-aggressive templates and start paying attention. Just because I forgot to log in before reverting vandalism doesn't mean you should automatically assume I'm vandalising the place myself. 106.68.139.198 (talk) 23:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

IP user from above here, thought I'd log in. I strongly suggest that as a new user you focus on contributing to the encyclopaedia, not policing recent changes. It's a far more constructive thing to do, and it's too easy to make mistakes and drive away potential contributors when you put your parking warden hat on. Your question

[edit]

Hi there. I have answered your question, posted on my talk page, on the same page.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:00, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Quantum, not trying to give you a hard time, but BLP is a very strict policy. Your source says Coptic Christian, not Coptic Catholic. Coptic Christian could also refer to Coptic Orthodox. There's a difference. You need a source that specifically identifies him as Catholic. Sundayclose (talk) 02:46, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I see that the source changed to the word "Catholic" just as we are having this discussion. I'm sure you're acting in good faith, but it seems that almost anyone can register and edit ICANNWiki. If that's the case the source is not considered reliable. That's true for most wikis. In fact, another editor reverted at List of American Catholics. Please find a different source that is not a wiki. Thanks. Sundayclose (talk) 14:24, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dalston Synagogue reversion

[edit]

Hello, Quantum Particles. You reverted an edit I made to the Dalston Synagogue article that included section title capitalization (section titles take sentence case), euphemism (they are to be avoided) and general sentence capitalization. Please let me know your thinking on these and why you reverted the edit. Cheers fdsTalk 00:11, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an inconvenience at all, Quantum Particles, but what is important is what is right, and what is right will always be constructive. I encourage you to peruse Wiki's guidelines if you haven't already. Also, for future reference, you can reply to anyone on your own talk page under their comments: Everyone has to get accustomed to it I think (I know I did), but it reduces clutter. Keep up the editing! fdsTalk 19:20, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
