Polygraph

[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to polygraph, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here.

I understand that in your edit summary, you mentioned that you "added reference to Wikipediea page on Silent Talker Lie Detector", however, including a wikilink to another article on Wikipedia cannot serve as a citation, because that is circular sourcing. However, if there is a reliable source cited in that other article, and it supports the material you added, then you can cite that source.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 13:51, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. I am new at this, and I didn't realize I needed to put the reference in both places. I have now done that. I won't make that mistake again. Pyrperson (talk) 06:51, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
