Mechanical puzzle external links
[edit]In reply to your comments on my talk page, the Wikipedia guidelines on external links are at WP:EL. I would particularly draw your attention to links to be avoided include "any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article". Open wikis are also not recommended. There is a better case for the puzzle museum link for its large collection of images. Maybe a better link would be the catalogue page rather than the main page to emphasise this.
In my opinion (and a lot of other Wikipedia editors) the default position should be not to insert links. That is, a good reason is needed for inserting a link rather than a good reason being needed to keep it out. Many articles on Wikipedia tend to accumulate a long list of unhelpful spammy links which need to be vigorously pruned now and then. SpinningSpark 16:49, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
