Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 00:30, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi! If info really is false, it's best to mention that in the edit summary. Not a bad idea to mention it on the talk page, either. Thanks for asking. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:41, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Please do not remove sourced content
[edit]As you did to Hawthorne Heights article.13Tawaazun14 (talk) 00:56, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
I belive removing sourced content falls under WP:VAND. Screamo is well sourced by 3 sources for hawthorne heights. Even though more then a few editors that want it removed, it's still well sourced and thus can not be. Editors arn't supposed to edit based on personal opinion, because it violates WP:NPOV. The only way it could possibly be removed is if we were to shorten the genre section, and even then, it's probably not gonna be removed because that process is based off of the majority of sources and, well, screamo has three.13Tawaazun14 (talk) 01:30, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Me again, sorry for the late response. No I did not mean to offend you or imply that you were a vandal. I cited it because removing sourced content is considered vanalism. Sorry for that.13Tawaazun14 (talk) 04:57, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Untrue vs. Unverified
[edit]"The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." Perhaps knowing about the policy on verifiability will help answer your question about when 'untrue' information can be removed from articles. If you encounter 'untrue' but reliably sourced information, the way to counter it is to add 'true' information from a reliable source(s). If you are able to show that the preponderance of reliable sources do not support the 'untrue' but sourced statements, then the 'untrue' statements may be removed or noted as being fringe theories, depending on the community consensus. -- The Red Pen of Doom 01:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
