License tagging for File:Erp.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Erp.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with upload of File:Pregnant.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pregnant.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Hi Psyc

I have moved Psyc3330 w11/Group04/Iconic Memory to Iconic Memory as it wasn't on article space. If you were trying to userfy your draft, you move the article back to your user subpage e.g. User:Psyc3330 w11/Group04/Iconic Memory. --Visik (talk) 01:35, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In case you're confused: for the software to think that a page is in your userspace, you have to place "User:" before your username. The software can't realise that you mean titles such as "Psyc3330 w11/Group04/Iconic Memory" to be in your userspace. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a note at my talk page and ask for help. Nyttend (talk) 03:27, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Psyc3330 w11/Group04/Iconic Memory. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Iconic memory. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Iconic memory - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Acroterion (talk) 03:59, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your account

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that this account's userspace is being used to coordinate editing of articles related to a specific subject. While there is nothing wrong with that in and of itself, if more than one person is making edits under the account name "Psyc3330 w11", this is a violation of the Username policy, specifically that "Sharing an account – or the password to an account – with others is not permitted." Each unique individual editing these pages MUST have their own account, or may edit without an account and have their IP address logged. Continued use of this account by more than one person will result in the account being blocked. —KuyaBriBriTalk 20:18, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Visual_Memory_Test.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Visual_Memory_Test.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 05:32, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Eyewitnesstestimony.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 17:16, 11 March 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 17:16, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Brain image.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Fut.Perf. 18:22, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Cover your eyes.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey there Psyc3330 w11, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Psyc3330 w11/Group24. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

Fair use rationale for File:David Rubin.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:David Rubin.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Some editing issues

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your contributions, which are definitely a good contribution to the project. However, with a little bit of effort, things could be even better... :-) Please have a look at WP:MOS for some layout issues (caps in headers is one example, placement of references is another one). Also, there are links to some handy tools on my user page that can help you (a very handy one is this tool which generates completely formatted references just from the PMID numbers; another handy tool is {{cite doi|xxxxx}}, which also generates a formatted reference just from the doi number). In Spatial memory you actually replaced several correctly formatted references with unformatted refs, which is not something you should do. Hope this helps and that you stay on as editors, even after the school project is done. --Crusio (talk) 19:06, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
