Hello, I was wondering how it would be possible to get some help in writing an article from a Wiki editor. I wrote an article before, but its online sources are now largely archived and can only be viewed for a fee. The original article I wrote can be viewed on my main page. Thanks!

Hello. As for style and wikisyntax, it looks like you've got a handle on how to create a good article. With 1,380 Google hits, it looks like this band is getting its name out there. The main issue I see is meeting the criteria at Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles. The band may qualify based on the Boston Herald articles, as you pointed out at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/8mm Fuzz. It seems to me that they do barely meet WP:MUSIC, but since the result of the recent Afd was to delete the article, it may be best to wait a while before writing another article about them. Once they get more notability and/or meet another criterion there will be a better chance of keeping the article. As for the look of the article itself, you don't need any help there. You've got the technique down pretty well, already. SWAdair 05:24, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to your user page (User:Psilosybical), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).

Please note that the purpose of a user page is not as personal homepage or used as a general webhosting service, but as way for active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. If you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues here or on my user talk page. You may remove the deletion notice, and the page will not be deleted for the moment, but note that it may still be sent to Miscellany for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:8mmfuzz.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:8mmfuzz.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Calton | Talk 15:29, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Varylumar.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Varylumar.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:43, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
