Thank you for your message on my talk page regarding WP:Deodorant. I wanted to point you towards the WP:V and WP:NPOV policies. With regards to where you say, "NEVER erase their work, you may only modify or add to it,": it is entirely within any editor's purview to delete material that is not appropriate for inclusion in the article, or to revise it to match the citations. That's precisely what my edits to this article were: 1.) to match the statement to what was actually included in the supporting reference and 2.) to delete a reference which did not support any particular statement in the article. My invisible text references were added because I did not have time at that moment to actually modify the article based on them, but to show that that section was giving an unbalanced perspective on the literature as a whole regarding the toxicity of aluminum salts in antiperspirants. These could have been included in this manner, or on the talk page for the article. In any case, my edits were neither inappropriate nor were they in violation of any tenet of WP:Etiquette. I can see that you have relatively few edits to Wikipedia thus far, so I'll share some of my experience by saying that it is extremely common for Wikipedia editors to have differing viewpoints while having a common good intent towards providing accurate and useful information to the article. Hopefully we can work together on this article in a cooperative and uncontentious manner.

I moved your last couple of edits to my talk page regarding the Deodorant article to the article's talk page instead. It's better to have any discussion regarding the specifics of the article where it is easily available for others wanting to read or contribute, rather than having to flip around between various users' talk pages (if they were even able to track down that discussion). Talk pages are more for short messages than ongoing discussions. Something like "please see my edits on the Deodorant talk page" would be better, if a user continues to edit without participating on the article's talk page.
Regarding my comment that you have few edits on Wikipedia: it appears that you took this as me saying that your edits are "less valuable" than mine. I do not think that is what I expressed. I was referring to the relative difference between the two of us in familiarity and experience with Wikipedia policies, practices, and community standards, including how to handle differences of opinion in editing a page. It was largely in response to the tone and content of your previous message that deletion is never allowed. Emcee 17:55, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
