Hi Psaha9130, welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed your protected edit request at Talk:National Security Agency. Unfortunately, I or someone else is almost certainly going to decline it. Your text is general and, as you say, does not have many citations yet. It also presents a thesis, as student essays are supposed to; however, this is an encyclopedia, so we do not present a point of view, but rather report in a balanced way on what others have said on the topic. If you look at the existing article you will see that it includes a detailed history and analysis sourced to numerous third parties, and that although it reports on criticism and support for the NSA, it never says where we stand, because the function of an encyclopedia is purely to inform, not to take a stance. If you look at the links above, especially neutrality and verifiability, you'll find more detailed explanations of our policies and guidelines. And I encourage you to ask questions - here, at the Teahouse forum for new editors, or on my or other wikipedians' user talk pages. Yngvadottir (talk) 14:08, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
