Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Princessriyaahuja. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Author Prachi Gupta, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:55, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Chris,
I'm not personally linked to the article person in any way.
I'm a reader who likes to read Indian fiction. I just joined Wikipedia to start editing and contributing articles about authors.
I'm not paid and asked for the license of images from the author. She replied when I asked her.
And if you see the content, I have not promoted anything or wrote any promotional content regarding her.
I'm just learning to post good articles on authors I recently start reading.
Thanks,
Riya Princessriyaahuja (talk) 22:08, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That seems odd because you claim File:Author Prachi Gupta.jpg is yours and you release it CC-SA. That's not the same as obtaining permission for a photo via WP:OTRS. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:11, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I choose the wrong option then. I will change it. I'm new. Still learning.
Please guide me more so that I dont make a mistake next time. Princessriyaahuja (talk) 22:17, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the source of the image and they are public and license free. I have also asked permission.
What else I need to edit?
I would like to learn as I want to be a good editor. Princessriyaahuja (talk) 22:39, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will draft a response to you on Commons later, but you cannot just download photos you found online, claim them as yours, and release them. That's theft and copyright violation. The upload guide gives you clear choices in this regard. I would suggest requesting deletion of those photos on Commons now. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:52, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
