Speedy deletion nomination of Norbana (gens)
[edit]Hello PrincenMCA,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Norbana (gens) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ (talk) 16:03, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Lucius Scribonius Libo
[edit]There are some arguments on this page that are very strange. It would be highly unlikely for Cornelia Sulla to be the wife of Libo. This daughter of Pompeia Magna and Faustus Cornelius Sulla would have to be born between 59 BCE (After Pompey's marriage to Julia Caesaris) and 47 BCE (when Faustus died). However, Libo is attested as Consul in 34 BCE. When his mother would be 25 at the oldest. Additionally, Libo's daughter Scribonia married Sextus Pompey in 55 BCE. Libo cannot be Praetor in 50 BCE if his now claimed grandfather (Faustus Sulla) was Quaestor in 54 BCE. It is more likely that Libo was around 42 when he became consul in 34 BCE, ergo born somewhere between 75 and 70 BCE. His sister Scribonia (wife of Octavian) is also believed to be born around 70 BCE. This makes both of them older than the claimed mother Cornelia Sulla.
Also if Libo is the grandson of Pompeia Magna and Faustus Cornelius Sulla, then his daughter Scribonia would not marry Sextus Pompey, who is then his grandmother's her full brother.
What I think went wrong is that Lucius Scribonius Libo (Consul in 16) is believed to have married Cornelia Magna daughter of Pompeia Magna and Lucius Cornelius Cinna (Suffect Consul of 32 BCE). However, I think this is also wrong.
The consul of 16 is believed to be a son or grandson of the consul of 34 BCE, which would make the timeline allign more properly. A daughter of Pompeia and Cinna would be born after 46 BCE, which alligns far closer to the Consul of 16 who should be born between 32 BCE and 24 BCE. If we add the information about the other child of Pompeia and Cinna, Gnaeus Cornelius Cinna Magnus, is also believed to have been born between 46 BCE and 35 BCE based on becoming Consul in 5 CE.
In my opinion the family tree ought to be as follows: Lucius Scribonius Libo (Consul of 34 BCE) and Scribonia (wife of Augustus) are the children of Lucius Scribonius Libo (Praetor of 80 BCE) and Sentia.
Lucius Scribonius Libo (Consul of 34 BCE) perhaps marries a Sulpicia. Not of the Sulpicii Galbae, but the Sulpicii Quirini (I will explain this later). They are the parents of Marcus Livius Drusus Libo (Consul in 15 BCE) and Scribonia.
Between 44-42 BCE, Scribonia (daughter of the Consul of 34 BCE) marries Sextus Pompey. They have a child Pompeia Magna before 40 BCE.
Marcus Livius Drusus Libo is born Lucius Scribonius Libo, but is adopted by Marcus Livius Drusus Claudianus (father of Empress Livia). This adoption makes sense as Claudianus dies a Pompeian at Philippi in 42 BCE, and Libo (Consul of 34 BCE) is still in the camp of Sextus Pompey at the time. This allows Claudianus to transfer his heritage to the Pompeian cause. Marcus Livius Drusus Libo is then married to Cornelia Pompeia Magna (Daughter of Pompeia & Cinna).
