Well done on this article, which appears to be a fine effort for a Wiki newcomer. Can I ask if you know whether Mr. Russell is English or even British or whatever, as this should be stated in his article ?

Derek R Bullamore (talk) 22:02, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for those compliments! Mr Russell is English, so I have just added "London" next to his birth year.

Feedback archived

[edit]

Hi there.

A while ago, you requested feedback in WP:FEED. Because it has been a while, and you'd received at least some response there, I have now archived the replies in Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/Archive/26. Please do not edit that page though; if you require further feedback, add a new request on WP:FEED.

I am trying to clear the backlogs; it would help us a lot if you could look at the requests from other users on WP:FEED and add any comments to help them out. Anyone can respond there, so please do take a look, and comment on the articles from other people.

If you want help with anything at all, you could either;

  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.

The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Best,  Chzz  ►  04:06, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Live Native

[edit]

From what I recall, the article was promotional. If you had responded to my comments earlier you probably wouldn’t have found the article deleted. One way to avoid the problem in future is to create a draft in your userspace (as you did) but only move it once it has been reviewed and people are happy with it.

You may be able to persuade the admin to dig out the old copy of the article and put it in your userspace. However, it may be better to start again, and bear in mind what I said. Create two articles – one at User:PressedBack/Raw skincare and one at User:PressedBack/Live Native. You may want to start with User:PressedBack/Raw skincare because then the other one can link to it to explain what that term means.

When you think one of the pages is ready, take a look at Wikipedia:So you made a userspace draft. One word of warning though. If you have a conflict of interest, for example you want to promote Live Native, it can make it very difficult to write a balanced article. I don’t want you to be tearing your hair out wondering why no one likes your work.

Hi PB, I saw this discussion and was about to email your deleted article to you, but you haven't entered an email address. If you contact me with an address I can send it -- slimvirgin at gmail dot com. Cheers, SlimVirgin talk|contribs 15:56, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
HI SV, Many thanks for offering to recover this article for me. I have emailed you an address for this purpose. Thanks again! --PressedBack (talk) 16:31, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Response

[edit]

I'm sorry, it was still much much much MUCH too promotional. It felt like a press release, not an encyclopedia article. It was full of puffery and unsupported assertions about how wonderful this one product is and how horrible all the other products are. It was wholly inappropriate for Wikipedia, and if you write another piece like that, it will be wholly inappropriate for Wikipedia.

(oh, and I apologize for not answering you sooner.) DS (talk) 17:28, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
