License tagging for File:Santa Fe Art Colony-CarlosVierra-1917 St. Francis Auditorium.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Santa Fe Art Colony-CarlosVierra-1917 St. Francis Auditorium.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:08, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Some tips for you!
[edit]Hi Prentert, I thought I'd drop a few notes on your talk page with some help on writing articles :o)
First of all, it may be best for you to do a bit of reading, starting with the Wikipedia manual of style, which will give you a lot of information about how Wikipedia prefers its articles to be written. It's not as hard to follow as it might look; quite a bit of the information there probably won't be vital for you at first.
Second, I recommend you make a user sandbox - which is just an area you can use to practise in, and to make notes in, and to get things ready in. If you click this red link: user:Prentert/Sandbox, that will let you create that page (it gives you an edit window to start work in). Anything, anywhere, on the help and information pages which gives you an example, try it out in your sandbox until you're familiar with it.
For your article, the next thing you want to do is start collecting as much information as you can about it. Google searches (particularly in Books and Scholar) will be your best friend for this! Once you've found the information, the next most important thing is to start writing up each fact in your own words (very important, this), and make a note at the same time of exactly where that information came from. Build in the references as you go along; I'm going to copy in, down below this, a whole heap of help on doing references, which was produced by one of our best teachers (Chzz).
Here's another place that you'll find incredibly useful - citation templates which you can copy and paste into your sandbox, between tags; you just fill in the blanks from your sources into the template, and you'll end up with nicely formatted inline citations :o) It all helps. Remember to add a references section to your sandbox (make a new line, and put ==References== on it, and type reflist on the next line, so that you can see how your citations look as you do them. Remember to save your page often! You don't want to lose your work.
Hopefully this will give you a good start and make life easier for you. Pesky (talk …stalk!) 07:18, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
How references work
[edit]Simple references
[edit]These require two parts;
- a)
Chzz is 98 years old. He likes tea.
- b) A section called "References" with the special code "reflist";
== References == reflist
(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)
To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Prentert/reftest and try it out.
Named references
[edit]Chzz was born in 1837. Chzz lives in Footown.
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates
[edit]You can put anything you like between , but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals.
Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.
For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.
Something to make your life easier!
[edit]I've just come across one of your articles, and noticed that you had to create titles for your url links manually.
You might want to consider using this tool - it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install the script on Special:MyPage/common.js, or or Special:MyPage/vector.js, then paste the bare url (without [...] brackets) between your tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for pdf documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. Happy editing! The article Elizabeth DeCicco has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sparthorse (talk) 11:36, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- I'll hold off taking the article to AfD for a couple of days to allow you time to find proper sources to show how Elizabeth DeCicco is notable, but I've tagged up the article since it currently does not have proper sources and clearly does not demonstrate how the subject is notable. Its particularly important in articles about living people that proper sourcing and notability is provided. Thanks, Sparthorse (talk) 19:03, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Please don't remove article maintenance tags from articles unless you also fix the problems the tags address. Doing so is disruptive and if you continue you can be blocked from editing Wikipedia. I have given you a lot of leeway here, please don't abuse it. Please also read WP:RS. The majority of, if not all of, the sources you have added to the article are not reliable,. If you can't find better sources the article will likely be deleted. Sparthorse (talk) 20:31, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Elizabeth DeCicco, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Sparthorse (talk) 06:47, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Elizabeth DeCicco, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Sparthorse (talk) 06:54, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
- Can you please discuss the changes you continue to make to Elizabeth DeCicco. Removing the maintenance tags without addressing the issues is seriously disruptive. Most of the "references" you are adding are not reliable sources. If you do not replace (or address) the tags, I will go through and remove the inappropriate references (i.e. virtually all of them) instead and propose the article for deletion again. You can reply here or on my talk page. Thanks, Sparthorse (talk) 10:26, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
What did you think about the deletion notice you received?
[edit]Hi Prentert, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:
- Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
- If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
- What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?
You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchukwikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! File permission problem with File:Santa
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Santa, which you've sourced to http://travel.travelocity.com/hotel/HotelDetail.do?propertyId=14187&tab=photos&WA1=03010&WA2=tripadvisor.com&WA5=trave_images_undatedB1_. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:24, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:GHayungainStudio-Photo-EDecicco.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:GHayungainStudio-Photo-EDecicco.JPG.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.
Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Stefan2 (talk) 21:29, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Liesel Moak Skorpen may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
- | notableworks = Old Arthur, My Mother's Dog, Elizabeth, [[We Were Tired of Living In a House], Outside My Window, Charles
Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 21:02, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Liesel Moak Skorpen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elizabeth (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:20, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
Which source says DeCiccio were her daughter?Xx236 (talk) 11:02, 14 November 2017 (UTC) https://dailygazette.com/article/2017/11/02/50-years-on-eighth-step-shines-bright "“My eldest, Elizabeth, did improvisational theatre and music with Lena [Spencer, Caffe Lena founder and impresario]." Elizabeth's last name is DeCicco from Margie's first husband, Joseph DeCicco. Her second husband was Martin Rosenkranz from which she has two children and names them in the article, Rebecca and Josh. Rebecca and Josh share the last name of Margie Rosenkranz' second husband, Martin Rosenkranz. Same article "...My son Josh did sound for us while in high school, then for the Clearwater Revival and Falcon Ridge. … My daughter Rebecca and friends ran a teen series called Student Underground, presenting among others, a young John Brodeur and band. … Later, she started an Indie Eighth Step series at Proctors, beginning with Lost in the Trees,” a Top 10 Year End pick in The Gazette that year."
Speedy deletion nomination of Margie Rosenkranz
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Margie Rosenkranz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. power~enwiki (π, ν) 21:10, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
