Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While creating stubs about topics we should cover is fine, expanding them by adding copyrighted content is not. (I would add {{Uw-copyright-new}} here if it weren't so long; it's a good summary of what is and isn't OK.) Feel free to ask me about anything you're unsure of. Speedy deletion nomination of Antonio Pizzigati
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Antonio Pizzigati requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Bgwhite (talk) 06:35, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Moved from user page, since this page is now unprotected. Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:43, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Since you've protected your talk page from editing, this is the only way I have to contact you. I have started a discussion regarding your actions at the Administrator's Noticeboard here. I urge you to respond there. OlYeller21Talktome 20:17, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Antonio Pizzigati
[edit]I have deleted this page as being a copyright violation. You claim that the website it is taken from is public domain, but there is nothing there that indicates this, and multiple other pages where the same organisation explicitly claims copyright, so it certainly isn't the case that everything they produce is public domain. Please provide convincing evidence that the source page is indeed in the public domain.
Please, per WP:INVOLVED, also don't restore the page again. And please don't reprotect your talk page unless there is a convinving reason to do so (extreme vandalism or the like). If you want to edit here, you have to provide an easy way to discuss things, i.e. your talk page. Fram (talk) 20:33, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
Update: I have re-created Antonio Pizzigati as a redirect to Tides (organization) and I have noted a suggestion for merging at Talk:Tides_(organization)#Antonio_Pizzigati. Basically, we need to add information about the prize. Unfortunately, that is all I can find at the moment. If you know of any additional reliable sources, please let me know. Viriditas (talk) 09:27, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't really know of any additional reliable sources for this content other than what is available from the Tides (organization). I've reached out to their communications department and they might have some additional information to share by early next week. Preilly (talk) 20:00, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- Preilly, welcome to Wikipedia. Primary sources, such as those from the organization itself, are not appropriate sources for an article about the subject. We need third party independent sources. If "any additional reliable sources for this content" do not exist, then that is a reason not to have the article.--v/r - TP 21:45, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
