Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Pratyush.shrivastava. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Youth Against Injustice Foundation, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 12:35, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All I got to know was from other sources, newspapers, and their website. However, I understand conflict of interest guideline, I also understand that the content without other sources can be removed or challenged easily. If you think, I'm editing page wrongly, from now on wards, I will firstly discuss on talk page with other editors so that they can review the requested change. If you still feel something to talk about, you can continue this discussion here. Thank you. Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 4:28, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

[edit]

You can't upload an image you find on someone's twitter or from a news website to commons. Please read eligible licenses and COM:NETCOPYVIO. Images need to be on a website which explicitly mentions an eligible license. - hako9 (talk) 18:40, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hako9 (talk · contribs) I understand the image was not licensed properly, thank you for removing it from page and applying for quick deletion.

I'll try to find free images to upload. Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 16:25, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Youth Against Rape for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Youth Against Rape is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Youth Against Rape until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Roller26 (talk) 16:33, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Youth Against Rape

[edit]

Hiya since the page is proposed for deletion, I made some quite drastic edits, for example removing the sections with no references. I think it is just about notable enough for its own wikipedia page. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 21:03, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's kind of you to thank me for my edits, but you don't need to do it for every edit! :) Mujinga (talk) 17:41, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Mujinga I thank everyone (for each edit) who do something in a constructive way on pages in which I keep a watch. I'm really sorry if it disturbed you. -- Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 17:48, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have received your email. I am not willing to refund or otherwise provide a copy of the article given the evidence of socking. Should that be cleared up in some way please feel free to reach out again and I will reconsider. Barkeep49 (talk) 14:14, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You shouldn't edit archived SPI cases. The archive is supposed to be a record of what was said during the case before it was closed. There isn't really anywhere on Wikipedia that you can put rebuttals or explanatory notes. Also, what you're saying is basically the same thing as WP:BROTHER. Admins almost never believe that excuse. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 12:51, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@NinjaRobotPirate: I am not blaming someone, I'm just accepting mistake (And humorously saying, he's my big brother, I really don't want you to believe). -- Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 12:59, 20 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Barkeep49:, I have given reason on the sockpuppet investigation, also it is same as WP:BROTHER. As mentioned in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Youth Against Rape, article might establish notability in little future (Or it might do now but lack sources). I think editors probably didn't checked Hindi and other language sources. Thus I'm again requesting you to provide me user space draft if possible. Thank you -- Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 09:10, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pratyush.shrivastava, given these facts I still decline to refund the article. Barkeep49 (talk) 12:59, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Controversial topic area alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

I just created the page and there is an AfD about this page. See if you can give an opinion. AltruisticHomoSapien (talk) 06:22, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AltruisticHomoSapien: Please be aware messaging users in attempt to recruit them to support your position in a discussion is a violation of Wikipedia guidelines: see WP:CAN. For this reason, as a matter of principle, I am declining to participate in this discussion. I encourage you to participate in the discussion yourself and present your views on why the article should not be deleted. Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 09:28, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hello Pratyush.shrivastava. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Pratyush.shrivastava. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Pratyush.shrivastava|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Praxidicae (talk) 19:48, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Praxidicae: Hello, I have never promoted a topic on Wikipedia nor I have worked in in response to any payment till date, however you might have UP impression because of my way of working in WP. I select a topic of my interest and try to make it better and better specifically. There have also been a few non-notable topics selected by me but this doesn't mean I'm violating any policy. However, rest assured, whenever I will work for Paid contribution I would indubitably disclose it. Thank you for your concern on WP policies. -- Pratyush.shrivastava (talk) 03:37, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chirag Pardesi moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Chirag Pardesi, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. (I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to unblock you. Well, I've read the ANI report (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents&oldid=1017612071#Inaccurate_decision_on_drafts!) and the SPI report (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Pratyush.shrivastava/Archive) You were checkuser blocked for some "pretty lame socking" earlier, so it's not unreasonable to think you've socked some more. And your editing was discussed at length at ANI. You have not addressed the concerns raised at ANI, or on your talk page. Instead you have attacked a bunch of people who have worked hard and long to build the world's largest free content encyclopedia. Those assertions are pretty lame. And for these reasons, I must decline your request.)
