Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in sonar. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Link to sonar
[edit]My bad - I see now that it's an educational link even though it happens to be a company website. Your insertion of the link at the top of the list didn't help me assume good faith though; unless it's something like a link to an official website, you should always put any links you want to add at the bottom of the list. I've readded the link to the sonar article. Also, you can sign your name like I did with four tildes "~~~~". Graham87 04:10, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
External links
[edit]Please reconsider your pattern of editing. Thusfar, your contributions appear to be based around the addition of external links to the same website. External links such as the one added to neurosurgery add little value to the encyclopedia. The page it links to is short on content and overly specific to be of general use. Wikipedia is not a directory of links (see WP:NOT). Only the best and most relevant links should be added to articles. Instead of linking, consider adding content to articles themselves. This is what makes Wikipedia more valuable for readers. If you have more questions about external links, please see the external link guidelines WP:EL. Also, linking to websites with which you are affiliated is considered a conflict of interest and is strongly discouraged: WP:COI. Nposs 16:58, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
