Valerian root

[edit]

As an encyclopedia - not a journal or textbook - WP:NOTTEXTBOOK #6,7 - Wikipedia uses reputable WP:BMI review sources to support statements concerning pharmacology or other medical content. On PubMed, I found no good review sources.

Please learn how to format your references, WP:REFB. Here is the Wikipedia formatting tool. Zefr (talk) 18:55, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "There are many chemical compounds whose exact pharmacology isn’t exactly known but that doesn’t mean they are totally unknown. Why pubmed, BMC (biomed central),etc. isn’t considered trustworthy here, pubmed is a government research organisation. Do you even know what you are doing by deleting my edit about the pharmacology of valerian root? I have myself taken this herb and also benzodiazepines, carbamates, and barbiturates, but haven't published the research due to some problem. Can you pls be more specific about your problem? What medical sources you give when you write about pharmacology of drugs here? I’ll use that if pubmed and BMC isn’t trustworthy for you here because i have done my own research on these substances so i know that it’s indeed true that definitely valerian root herb is a positive allosteric modulator of gaba a and pubmed and BMC are correct."
You have a misunderstanding about what PubMed is - see Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources_(medicine)/FAQ#PUBMEDRIGHT. The two sources you proposed are from basic lab research - see WP:MEDANIMAL, not from WP:BMI reviews. Also, for medical editing and sourcing, read all of WP:MEDRS and WP:WHYMEDRS.
Before further editing, as a new user, you should become familiar with WP:MOS, and you can ask questions at the Help desk.
There is a discussion going on here on your talk page; you do not need to post on my page. Zefr (talk) 21:24, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah sorry i’ll reply here. I’m new here so i didn’t knew that i can reply here. Also, thanks for telling. I did misunderstood it. I’m 100% sure that the mentioned pharmacology is correct about it’s positive GABA-A modulating activity that’s why i was writing here but after reading all the instructions above now i understand that why i can’t post it here.
