Copyright issue
[edit]Hi Prabhujee. While I appreciate your willingness to contribute, I had some legitimate concerns about the image's copyright status. I've raised them at Image talk:Bharata Natyam 3.jpg. Please reply there. I have some more issues besides copyright which can be sorted out later. Thanks. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 05:57, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- Prabhujee, I have seen that you have marked the image under {{gfdl}}. But, my query at Image talk:Bharata Natyam 3.jpg was whether you're the owner of the image (as in the original poster) or whether the owner has released it under {{gfdl}}? Can you please answer these questions before we restore it in the article? -- Sundar \talk \contribs 04:55, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- I would also request you to read Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Tagging options and mark the image as {{GFDL-self}} if you own the copyright for the original poster (not a scanned version of it) or otherwise cite your source and permission. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 05:09, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
- Also, I made this edit because "world's capital" sounds unencyclopedic and in the absence of references, it might sound POVish. Moreover, with the image of Kutcheri already being there to represent "native" culture, I thought it fitting to have the Saarang image represent the "other" culture. Added with these things was the copyright ambiguity and that's why I reverted your edits. Also note that Chennai is a featured article and hence any change should strictly enhance the article. Sorry for not putting up this detailed an explanation before and leaving a terse message in the edit summary. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:32, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

- I apologise for failing to note the license. Believe it or not, I did not pretend not noticing it. However, that's not the only reason I wanted the picture changed. Of course, the other reasons are not hidden, I've given the reasons above, clearly. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 05:26, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
As clearly stated on the web site from which the picture is taken (http://www.sridevinrithyalaya.org/gallery1.htm ), this image is under GNU. Prabhujee 13:24, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
Talk page
[edit]Please use the article talk page to communicate rather than edit summary. Refusing to discuss on the talk page while making snide edit comments is RUDE. A Ramachandran 23:21, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
