Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Ppassword, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Patron estates, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Taelus (talk) 21:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Why was Patron Estates deleted and how can I restructure and edit this article so that it is acceptable to Wiki standards? In other words, where did I specifically go wrong. Ppassword (talk) 00:48, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I've got an admin to restore a copy of the file to your user area. It is now in User:Ppassword/Patron Estates. You can work on the document there, fix it up, and ask for help. I will look at it now, and advise further below, in a few minutes.  Chzz  ►  00:56, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so - most important bits first;
  • I strongly recommend that you work on some other pages, before you create your first article. See my 'welcome' below.
  • If you are involved directly with "Patron Estates", you need to read the business FAQ. In brief, this says that it is best not to create an article about something that you are involved in; instead, you can work on the article in your user space, and request that it is created.
  • When you do come to improve the article, the main concerns are as follows;
  • The article must establish notability, per the guidelines - in this case, it would be WP:ORG
  • It should not have any external links within the body text - they should only be used for referencing and one link in a section called 'External links'.
  • All the facts must be referenced to verifiable, [[WP:RS|reliable sources. These cannot be primary sources such as newspaper articles. For example, you cannot say "over 70 years of experience" unless you can provide evidence of that from a suitable source.
  • The language used must be neutral and encyclopaedic. "a full range of products; making this a unique place to work" is not neutral.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
I recommend the latter; I am online right now and would be happy to help further if I can.

Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  01:08, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!
