- Please tell me which specific words or phrases or sentences that triggered the total reversion of the site that we are trying desperately to upgrade http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottawa_Technical_High_School With great humility, as a first-timne editor (on behalf of so many contributors for this entry), I await your guidance and coaching so that we can successfully edit.Brian Laishes (talk) 16:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Brian Laishes
- Thank you for you feedback. I have discussed this with my colleagues and we believe that we will NOT continue to post information on Wikipedia, but, rather, use 1 or 2 new dedicated websites. In the meantime, if you want to revert this site back to the original, please do so. As it stands, it is a very very incomplete and literally erroneous contribution to Wikipedia. We will attempt to use encyclopedic language to improve the presentation and later, once our public websites are completed, reference them as links for further reading. I presume that my added material will be preserved under "former edits" such that I can retrieve the material for transfer to our new websites that are under construction. - On second thought, I JUST completed a total cleanup of the Ottawa Technical High School entry. Please note that it is a work-in-progress. If you decide to accept it, then I/we will continue to keep it encyclopedic, and interesting. I am hoping to add better and more interesting photographs, and I think I had to wait 4 days so that the GFDL can become active? Am I correct? If you note any additional unacceptable phrases please tell me specifically. Thank you for your help. Brian Laishes (talk) 20:49, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Brian Laishes
- I made an attempt to follow your guidelines and the excellent example of your editing of the Ottawa Tech draft. I simply added another Alumni listing and before I could even complete it, A Wikipedia person SimonP reverted it. I looked at the talk page of SimonP, and frankly, I give up,,,I remain now TOTALLY confused!!,,,can someone please explain? Thank you,Brian Laishes (talk) 16:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC) Brian Laishes
I want to thank you for your patient and crystal clear explanation of the notability concept. I passed it along to my colleagues and we will certainly modify our approach accordingly. Just not used to the "encyclopedic" writing. Brian Laishes (talk) 22:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Brian Laishes
After considerable research here, I must ask you for guidance in the area of rederences: We have copies of published articles from the Ottawa Journal newspaper from 1962, 1963, and in many cases I believe we could simply quote from an article and show an archival (on-line) reference. However, the Ottawa Journal went out of business many years ago and all we have are our stored copies of the articles to which we can refer (some newspaper photographs as well). How can we show the articles? Can we upload them as jpg photographs somewhere? Or, can we embed some of them (the short ones) right in the article? Please advise. Secondly, we have commendations from the Prime Minister of Canada then (Lester Pearson) as well as the Mayor of Ottawa (Charlotte Whitton),,,,can we embed those in the article (they include a picture of the Prime Minister and the Mayor)? Please advise. Thank You.Brian Laishes (talk) 15:24, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Brian Laishes

Why...
[edit]Why did you revert my edit to your user page?
It IS accurate information. I can gladly provide some more proof if you're not satisfied. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.190.140 (talk) 02:53, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Hermann Mejia
[edit]I noticed you called for a weak keep on Hermann Mejia. Could you please show me the references which you say you've found? Thanks. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells• Otter chirps • HELP!) 23:52, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- You've shown me a commercial link and a blog. Both of those are very trivial, one-sentence mentions that definitely wouldn't cut it as far as WP:V and WP:RS (especially the blog, even though it's clearly Tom Richmond's). - The book is a much better source. However, given that it was published by Mad, I think it might still be a primary source. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells• Otter chirps • HELP!) 01:55, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
