Hi, I only came across the lake because I've been doing Category:Rivers of Somerset for Wikipedia:WikiProject Somerset - you are welcome to join us. I got the photo from Geograph which are licensed under creative commons so we can reuse them on wikipedia (crediting source etc as appropriate).— Rod talk 20:46, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I see you have spent a bit of time on Jade Goody's page. Have you nothing better to do - why concern yourself with what that inbred idiot is doing? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.163.182.47 (talk) 23:54, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello Poltair, on the quotefarm tag, I think that it's actually good practice to put in extended quotes from some judgments: I agree that usually that's not right, but with legal cases it's good practice: like you would find in a cases and materials book that law students would use. :) Wikidea 21:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
This is a fully sourced article about an institution that has received a lot of media interest and is thus clearly notable. What is the exact (detailed) problem here? Put another way, if this is not in full conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, what changes can be made to make it so. I think this is an important and notable topic and needs to be made in a format that it acceptable to all and of encyclopaedic value [SCIS Info] —Preceding unsigned comment added by SCISInfo (talk • contribs) 23:05, 29 May 2008

Hi Poltair,

Hi Poltair, I start to re-edit the article Mallu Magalhães, but I have a doubt about the references: if I have two or more parts of an article that talk and / or not of the same subject, I put the reference in those shares or another way of putting the same reference in different places? St Austell
Hi Poltair, re your edit of St Austell, the fact that the new St Austell civil parish is urban in character is not my "opinion" but is a fact that can be ascertained by looking at a map. 'Urban', 'rural' and 'coastal' are not subjective geographic terms (unlike, say, 'picturesque' or 'beautiful'). In this case I omitted a source (though I've added it now) but even so it would have been more constructive to add a {{citation needed|date= XXX}} tag and dropped me a line on my talk page rather than simply deleting the sentence. Best wishes, Andy F (talk) 10:36, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- PS After posting the note above, I noticed that the map on the article page shows the CP boundary closely following the outline of the urban area. That map is drawn from up-to-date mapping by Cornwall Council - see http://mapping.cornwall.gov.uk/website/ccmap/ using the 'Government' overlay. Best wishes Andy F (talk) 14:42, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

The World Before the Flood
Thanks for doing that one so promptly. Regarding the "old master tradition", there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to reword it although it's not entirely necessary. Once I get around to giving William Etty the WP:TNT treatment, the articles on the individual works won't need such an extensive background section, but at the moment the bio is so bad (my removing the actual lies from it has left it a gutted shell) that I don't want to be directing readers there for background detail. – iridescent 22:16, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- My pleasure. Ah, now I understand why William Etty is so short. I was surprised as there seemed to be plenty of material out there. There wasn't any real problem with the "old master tradition", it was just that I spent hours checking the sources that I had to find something; otherwise it might look like a rubber stamp job, which it wasn't! DYK for Sheila Florance
On 26 June 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sheila Florance, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Sheila Florance broke her knee wielding an antique shotgun while filming Mad Max? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hi and thanks for getting in touch. I am a bit confused as I have only added a paragraph to the beginning on Dave's entry and this wasn't copied from anywhere. The content on the page does seem to have come from his website but has been there some time and it wasn't me that added it. I do know Dave (not closely) and offered to add an updated paragraph to his page. How should I go about resolving any issues? Editing article on Adam Cohen (journalist)
HI, I'm a brand new editor to Wikipedia and chose for my first editing foray to augment the article on Adam Cohen, journalist and author. I noticed that you made some edits yesterday (April 11), including making certain listed dates more understandable to people around the world (e.g.,April 2017 instead of 2017-04). But I am curious what triggered your interest in this article. I also saw that you changed a cite, noting that the source was in the appendix of a cited report. All good. I'm just curious how and why you came to this article. And thanks, by the way, for your edits!

Reference errors
Hi in this[3] edit your change introduced several errors - for example using the "author" property for lists of authors, when it should name just a single author. Not sure if you're using software for this but if so, it seems buggy! Alexbrn (talk) 14:04, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
- Are you sure? I changed author to vauthors to correct CS1 maint: Multiple names: authors list errors and I added |display-authors=etal where there were CS1 maint: Explicit use of et al. errors. I also corrected a CS1 maint: Archived copy as title error. These were all done manually and I didn't see any errors following my edit. Poltair (talk) 14:14, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

I am an Australian and a member of my family was one of Coles victims, he is mentioned in much of the "Cole " literature and archival material. I wonder if you would share with me your interest in Cole and whether you have more material than appears in the wikipedia report. I am putting together a biography of my relative -rather more slowly than I would wish. I am not sure of the protocol of making contact with you but would be willing to share my email address with you for direct contact if you agree. Ministersson (talk) 07:52, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hello @Ministersson:. I am both sorry and fascinated to hear that one of your family was a victim of Cole. His victims were extraordinarily brave individuals. My interest is in the WWII escape lines and Cole was part of that story. My sources are probably fewer than what you already have; I have the Airey Neave books and Brendan Murphy's book on Cole, Turncoat. Poltair (talk) 16:02, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
