Notability of Antonio Ring

[edit]

The article Antonio Ring has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:46, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Polly.White

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Polly.White requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Acroterion (talk) 20:19, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

July 2008

[edit]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 20:19, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of user page

[edit]

Please see WP:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User Space. Ros0709 (talk) 19:39, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create hoaxes. Cease and desist from introducing misinformation into Wikipedia if you are attempting to test our ability to detect and remove it. This has been done before, with universally negative results. Hoaxes are marked for deletion shortly after they are created. Kindly — do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method is to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia, and then to check to see how long they have been in place and, if possible, correct them. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia policy to learn more about this project and how you can make a positive impact. Thanks, Ros0709 (talk) 20:13, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage

[edit]

Please do not post personal information such as your age on your userpage. I have deleted the page as too much information for a minor, and it is clearly not factual. I am fairly certain that you have not yet won an Academy Award, in 2009 or otherwise, and your twin sister's name has changed four times. Acroterion (talk) 21:30, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

[edit]

New editor User:Pamela.Hale has recreated The Romance Kiss which was previously created by User:Polly.White and deleted as a hoax after discussion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Romance_Kiss. The two editors' user pages are near identical (Polly White's is now deleted and SALTed). Note: Polly.White was also discussed at AN/I Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive449#User Space (at a time when the user page contained more misinformation, but the issue of the age of a minor remains). Ros0709 (talk) 05:50, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now also raised at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Polly.White and, now, User:Pamela.Hale. Ros0709 (talk) 06:16, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
