Welcome!
Hello, Polartec239, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Your contributed article, National Goat Day
[edit]Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, National Goat Day. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Goat. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Goat - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. missrain(talk) 01:21, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
The article Huntington Spy Association has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RFA
[edit]Hello - I have removed your RFA because the nomination page was improperly filled out. 7 00:08, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- While I applaud enthusiasm, I'm afraid you do not yet possess sufficient knowledge and experience for the community to have confidence in your readiness to become an admin. But that does not mean that we will never have confidence in you.
- For the most part, it requires at least 3,000 edits in a variety of areas to learn policy and guidelines well enough to attempt adminship. Nominees need to show the ability to contribute a number of significant edits to build the encyclopedia.
- However, if you work on vandalism patrol, most people would like a few thousand more.
- The Admin tools allow the user to block and unblock other editors, delete and undelete pages and protect and unprotect pages. Nominees will therefore do well to gain experience and familiarity with such areas as WP:AIV, WP:AFD, WP:CSD, Wikipedia:Protection policy, and WP:BLOCK to learn when to do these things.
- As an admin, you will inevitably have to...
- Explain clearly the reasons for one's decisions.
- Review one's decisions and change one's mind when it is reasonable to do so.
- Review one's decisions and stand firm when it is reasonable to do so
- Negotiate a compromise.
- Admins need a familiarity with dispute resolution. The ability to communicate clearly is essential.
- Article building is the raison d'être of Wikipedia. I recommend significant participation in WP:GA or WP:FA as the surest way to gain article building experience.
- If you are not the type of person who likes to write content, there's plenty of other article work you can do (WikiGnomeing for start).
- Many nominees have found it helpful to submit an Editor Review or to receive Admin coaching before submitting their RfA and after passing that benchmark. Hope this helps. Good luck and happy editing. 7 00:15, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Dungeon Designer 3
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Dungeon Designer 3. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dungeon Designer 3. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Quantum Cipher
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Quantum Cipher, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AlexHOUSE (talk) 23:08, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
"Quantum Cipher"
[edit]It's not really up to me; I'm not an administrator. The article, as it was, did not establish any notability to merit inclusion. As I understand it, it is some sort of puzzle you invented. Is that correct? (Also, don't forget to sign your posts by typing "~~~~". Go ahead and respond here on your talk page.) AlexHOUSE (talk) 01:06, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
It was not a cipher I invented it was merely going around my neigborhood and people were using it to send messages. Polartec239 (talk) 01:08, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, that sort of thing doesn't meet up to our notability guidelines. Every article here on Wikipedia has to meet up to certain guidelines and pass certain tests to be included. See WP:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. Does that help? AlexHOUSE (talk) 01:13, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Also-- I see you've recreated the article for Quantum Cipher. Please don't recreate an article that's been deleted. It's now tagged for speedy deletion. AlexHOUSE (talk) 01:17, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- You may not remove deletion templates from articles you've created--please do not continue to do so. It looks like you're trying to protect your article; that's not exactly how "protection" works. If you would like your article to stay, place the "hangon" tag under the deletion template and explain your reasoning on the talk page. If you continue, your edits will constitute vandalism. AlexHOUSE (talk) 01:25, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, im new at this ill remove it right away Polartec239 (talk) 01:28, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- That's alright. However, the subject matter of your article does not meet up to inclusion guidelines, and will likely be deleted no matter how well it's written. Again, Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. Please have a read of the links I've provided you with. AlexHOUSE (talk) 01:35, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Huntington Spy Association
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Huntington Spy Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
