Good work. The lead should be expanded to provide a bit more information about the subject (particularly their primary reasons for notability, such as awards won or important papers published). It could also use some minor cpyediting, and there are some words that may be better-translated. For one thing, "soil scientist" isn't a discipline I've heard of in English–looking at the Russian, which uses the term "агрофизик", I would guess that a better translation would be "agronomist".
