The Dark Knight

[edit]

The reason I keep reverting you is that that information is extraneous and partially covered already. You are surrouding it with POV working, such as "What makes it difficult". Yes, Bruce sees Dent as a means to replace Batman, but not entirely...even Rachel states that he will not be able to give up being Batman. The last paragraph mentions that Batman wants to preserve Dent's image to the public. The rest is a minor story arc that extended the length of the film, but not worth the space given that there was no confrontation between Bruce, Dent and Rachel over this triangle relationship they had.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 14:46, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding extraneous details to the plot section. Plots are supposed to be succinct, not scene for scene. The reader can go watch the film if they want to know HOW Batman captures Lau. It is unimportant to the overall plot summary. Might I suggest familiarizing yourself with WP:MOSFILM before making future edits to film pages, because it will help you learn how the structure and style of the page should be.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 14:50, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll tweak it to mention Dent and Rachel's relationship early on. As for succinctness and brevity, neither has anything to do with revealing plot twists (and this movie wasn't complex at all, it just had a lot going on at one time). Brevity and succinctness deals with being able to explain things in as few words as possible.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:08, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are many definitions of complex, and for me a "complex" plot is one that is hard to follow because of everything going on. This film is not hard to follow, it just has a lot of little things here and there. If I can have a 2.5 hour film summarized in 700 words, then it must not be that complex. Speaking of, I added more about Rachel and Dent. Is this more to your liking?  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:18, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I try to include all major plot points in a film, but leave out the specifics of each. In other words, do we need to know that the Joker kills Gambil? Most likely not. Is it important to note that he plans to take over the city as the leader of the crime gangs...probably so.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:36, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
