Hi Pam, I thought I would provide some feedback on your page because I noticed that you didn't get feedback from your group members. I think some great areas for improvement are in the new media section...the headings under modern applications of uses and gratifications has a laundry list of areas but not a very clear or structured organizational hierarchy...from a research standpoint, you can develop the uses and gratifications of various new media and places this theory has been used. Hi Pam!! Sorry for my delay in providing feedback to your Wiki page!! We spoke in class last week about improving the new media section and I remember you mentioned the idea of including a cell phone or simply a mobile technology section to your page. I also noticed the "Gratifications sought (GS) vs. gratifications obtained (GO)" section of you page and I find its significance to be unclear, I think expanding on the impportance of this change could add to the knowledge of the reader. Hi, Pam! I think the theory that you edited is clear and informative. I only found a few places that I am not so sure. Firstly, the section of "stages of the theory". Does those three stages follow a timeline? Why a theory suggested in 1970 is put in the stage 1? I noticed that two theories later than it were put after that. Second, in the section of "the modern applications of uses and gratifications research", I think it is very important that you added entertainment media. But I feel that these four categories overlap one another to certain degree. For example, animated news can be seen both on Internet and on television; and does Internet usage include social network usage? (Maybe the label of concepts cannot avoid overlapping.) Finally, just in my opinion, in the section of "theory criticism", I feel that it might be clearer if the first part can be also leaded by one or more subheadings. Hey Pam!

I think you are doing a great job! I suggest to make some changes in the structure of the page, I think the history should come first. I don't understand why some phrases or words are in bold. I think this gives some noise to the page because it does not provide any additional meaning. You can also expand the gratification sought versus gratifications obtained since it is something new to the theory. I think you can also create a new section in which you can explain how audiences categorize the gratifications obtained from the media. This article seems to be very interesting and can be useful.
