[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. PhilKnight (talk) 18:28, 26 September 2024 (UTC)- Hi Phil,
- I'm not receiving any compensation for this.
- I created the account because I came across this vending machine that dispenses pizzas, while it being kind of mid- I thought the concept was really interesting. I thought I could try to create a wikipedia page for it since one didn't exist and I wanted to explore how to create one. I'd seen youtube videos on the same but never created one.
- Editing on wikipedia is a little overwhelming because I don't want to add any misleading or false information. From my research from the past few days I had knowledge about PizzaForno, hence I tried adding that to various pages where it was relevant.
- From my limited knowledge knowledge, I also had basic knowledge of Social Prescribing in Canada since it's a fairly new topic as well so I've done an edit there as well.
- Wikipedia has been monumental in shaping my journey as a student and more. I have limited knowledge, but it can fill gaps in the right areas like design and healthcare. I don't believe at this stage I can write full pages in either field but this is something I want to grow into. I do believe knowledge is collaborative and multiple people contributing together is how we build our collective knowledge. I want to be able to contribute to that.
- Thank you for your time and consideration. I apologise for the inconvenience.

Are you aware that Wikipedia is not based on the personal knowledge of contributors, but on what independent reliable sources say about a topic? "New topics" rarely merit Wikipedia articles, see WP:TOOSOON. Wikipedia does not lead, it follows the coverage- Wikipedia is the last place to write about a topic, not the first. 331dot (talk) 08:50, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- I am aware that Wikipedia is based on reliable sources of knowledge and hence citations for those sources are crucial. For me to be able to contribute, I would have to have existence of knowledge previously gained from credible sources (here for me, those are peer reviewed papers published on PubMed). Which is exactly what I mean by limited knowledge, and my ability to contribute. For example, when I added the part of Social Prescribing, it is based off of my work as a social researcher working on a systemic literature review and thus the knowledge gained from it. Similarly, my additions to PizzaForno are based on the knowledge gained from what already exists from the information provided by them.
- For example, I wouldn't be adding knowledge if 1) I have no previous knowledge of its existence, 2) I don't have creadible sources for it, 3) It's not my area of expertise (however major or minor).
- I understand that your question comes from a place of informing, but honestly, I'm slightly offended that the credibility of my edits are in question when all citations have been provided.
- I am new to the technical aspect of contributing on Wikipedia hence my fumble with the username, but I am not new to creating accessible literature with a focus on Information Dissemination and Knowledge Translation. PizzaForno (talk) 20:02, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
