You signed up with an obviously inappopriate flag; I assumed you weren't serious. I will add you if you want to choose a less provocative flag. J Milburn (talk) 00:39, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the 2013 WikiCup!

[edit]

Hello, Pirated windows 7 install disc, and welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! Your submissions' page is here. The competition begins at midnight UTC. The first round will last until the end of February, at which point the top 64 scorers will advance to the second round. We will be in touch at the end of every month! A few reminders:

  • The rules can be found here. There have been a few changes from last year, which are listed on that page.
  • Anything you submit must have been nominated and promoted in 2013, and you need to have completed significant work upon it in 2013. (The articles you review at good article reviews does not need to have been nominated in 2013, but you do need to have started the review in 2013.) We will be checking.
  • If you feel that another competitor is breaking the rules or abusing the competition in some way, please let a judge know. Please do not remove entries from the submissions' pages of others yourself.
  • Don't worry about calculating precisely how many points everything is worth. The bot will do that. The bot may occasionally get something wrong- let a judge know, or post on the WikiCup talk page if that happens.
  • Please try to be prompt in updating submissions' pages so that they can be double-checked.

Overall, however, don't worry, and have fun. It doesn't matter if you make the odd mistake; these things happen. Questions can be asked on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! J Milburn and The ed17 17:28, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

February 2013

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for general trolling and a clearly inappropriate username. Furthermore, this is obviously not your first account. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Reaper Eternal (talk) 03:09, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I joined Wikipedia to get involved with FPC discussions and the like, and that's what I've been doing, if you look at my contributions... I'm really sorry if you think my username is inappropriate, but I'd like to know why you think that, and if a name change is possible then I'll take it. Thanks! Pirated windows 7 install disc (talk) 11:01, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Do you really not see why admitting software piracy in your username is not appropriate? If you want to request a new username, which is an absolute requirement, use {{unblock-un}}. You may at the same time care to explain [1] this edit?--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:45, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • That is what I say in my defence. However, apparently, I've been blocked for being a 'sockpuppet', which I'm really confused about. :/ Pirated windows 7 install disc (talk)
JJ, thank you for your input; I personally do not agree with your comment, but the user is not prevented for making a further unblock requesnt if s/he so wishes. What do you think about the use of an Al-qaeda flagicon, as noted in the diff I highlighted? Note that I have already, above, told this user how to apply for a username change. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:48, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Well, I have this chance, so I'll take it, I guess. The edit with the al-Qaeda flag wasn't made maliciously, it was only a joke (although in hindsight it wasn't exactly funny), and I wouldn't make such edits to encyclopaedic articles or to the user-space pages of others, I assure you. I've chosen this new username because Bennun is one of my family names; it being rare, I half-expected Bennun to be unregistered, but apparently the account exists, so The Bennun it is. I truly apologise if I've caused harm with my original username here. Thanks. Pirated windows 7 install disc (talk) 18:17, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Judging by your first, now deleted, edit - this is not your first account on Wikipedia. And judging by the rest of your edits, you're here not to contribute constructively. Talk page access revoked. Max Semenik (talk) 09:23, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This account is a sockpuppet of Wagner (talk · contribs), as noted on the user page. —DoRD (talk) 12:38, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
