Hybridization between Ratites

I recently observed some Lesser Cassowary X Emu hybrids in a private avicultural collection. The Smithsonian museum has two skins of this cross as well. The male progeny appear to be fully fertile but the females apparently only rarely lay. The males can be bred to the female Emu and produce fully fertile offspring.

The two Rhea species have been known to interbreed in zoological collections.

Kiwis are documented as hybridizing in captivity as well.

Dragonbirds

[edit]

I've been studying Green Peafowls -known as Dragonbirds in their native haunts and Indian Peafowl, known as Snake Dancer in their native haunts ( transliteration) for over twenty years. We are very actively involved in a genome mapping project of peafowl. I have read a few times some misinterpretations of my data on this site. I hope that authors of wikipedia will contact me personally if they have questions regarding Gallinaceous birds. Also, photos of birds in the field would be preferable over the photos of captive birds but I have no clue how to post them.

Since you are new to Wikipedia, you may want to spend some time reading the instructions and policies that are linked above. One of these is called Wikipedia:No_original_research which means the "authority" or "experience" of editors is not relied on for the content. Instead all content has to be attributed to verifiable and reliable sources (See WP:RS). I am afraid much of the text added to the article on Green Peafowl is uncited and may need to be removed in keeping with policies. Shyamal (talk) 07:02, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stacey Dash

[edit]

I'm not really sure what you were trying to say on my talk page but the information has been removed from the Stacey Dash article per WP:BLP. Dismas|(talk) 22:38, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First, your comments will be archived with the rest of my talk page. Second, you can email users by going to their user page and clicking on the "E-mail this user" link in the toolbox on the left. It's right between "Logs" and "Upload file". Dismas|(talk) 23:08, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You've changed my mind. And I've complied with your wishes. Dismas|(talk) 10:28, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Pinudjem, what is your reason for this edit? Why remove that she is of African American descent? If you are trying to state that she is not, then that does not explain why she has said that she is. Also, that source says that she is. The reason the Aztec part was removed is due to what is stated on that article's talk page. Read what has been stated about the Aztec bit there.
