I thought this link might interest you, as you were commenting on the Wikipedia page for one of the rivers featured... [1]

Not sure if there is a "literature" or "exploration" section in that article, but it might be worth adding a little. Scribeoflight (talk) 15:41, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Irrawaddy delta fauna

[edit]

I think that's fine (adding it to the Ayerawaddy river article). As you say, that is the main article. Ideally, of course, we should have a separate article on the fauna in the delta but that's not going to happen for a while. When there is enough stuff, we can spin it off into its own article and link it from the river as well as the delta. And thank you for your efforts in this underrepresented area of the wiki! --RegentsPark (sticks and stones) 18:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

CUOS election

[edit]

Thank you for your vote in the election. However, I'm afraid you do not have sufficient mainspace edits before June 15th to vote in this election. If you have any questions please let me know.--Tznkai (talk) 17:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think we may have hit on a way forward on Ayeyarwady/Irrawady; there again, we've probably opened up a whole new can of worms! I certainly agree though, that the problem isn't going to go away, and we need to consider our whole approach to the country as the advice in the naming conventions is totally inadequate, if not downright contradictory. Let's see what the others think, and if there is agreement, perhaps you'd like to open up discussion atWikipedia talk:Naming conventions (Burmese) and direct people from Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (geographic names), Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Myanmar (Burma), and we can follow you across. Psycho Clown Brothers Sources help

[edit]

Hi, thanks for offering to help me with this. I'm not sure what it means as I'm new here, can you help me get sources for the article I made please? I really am having trouble with it. —Preceding unsigned comment added byMusicDatabase (talkcontribs) 20:35, 18 October 2009 (UTC) RE: I just searched Google myself, and didn't find anything either. I know the band has done shows in the area I live, I have been to them a few times and have a few of their albums. But for some reason I can't find anything online of solid information to support that. It's quite frustrating. Thank you for your help though, I will do as you advised. MusicDatabase(talk) 21:03, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just got your message. Yeah, I tried to find sources everywhere but the only thing I could find was a local magazine, and I have no idea if that is even suitable.

As you asked, I would like the word document for the article I made, at least then it wasn't all for nothing. Thank you. —Precedingunsigned comment added by MusicDatabase (talkcontribs) 23:11, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2006/07 Ystalyfera RFC season

[edit]

Just a friendly note about 2006/07 Ystalyfera RFC season. I declined the speedy because the article isn't about Ystalyfera RFC, it's about a single season, which doesn't meet A7. Merging to Ystalyfera RFC, prodding, or taking to AfD would be the way to go if the season isn't notable. Cheers! --Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:23, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: Get Sick!

[edit]

Hello PimRijkee, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (Get Sick!) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! NW (Talk) 00:09, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Ritsem

[edit]

Hello PimRijkee, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Ritsem - a page you tagged - because: Ritsem is a geographic location and, as such, A7 does not apply. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know.— Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 00:22, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Slovenian phonology

[edit]

On Nov. 13, 2009 I deleted this page in order to correct it since it contained some mistakes but was prevented by you guys from doing so twice - only to be deleted by you now. I explained my reasons for deletion and usuccessful correction but got only rather unpleasant replies from you (so-called administrators), so I really don't know sometimes what kind of games you're playing at Wikipedia - which was supposed to be an open source encyclopedia. I'am sure you will agree that this is not the case any more. And, btw, why don't you assume fully the role of administrators or editors or whatever your capacity is and e.g. correct posted articles or advise the contributors, which is the role of all editors in publishing industry? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ivan val (talkcontribs) 19:35, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You recently tagged this article for improvement. I took a shot at it, took off the tags, but it is still not great. Take another look, see if you want to re-tag it - or improve it. Thanks,Aymatth2 (talk) 21:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is really good feedback - thanks. The intro certainly needs expansion. And you are right - it is basically just a list of facts. I have been doing a string of these articles, grubbing around to pick out relevant information from a web search, mostly news items, and putting it into sequence. It is hard to make the articles flow well without introducing opinions, and hard to avoid stale and awkward wording, but I should try harder.

The area certainly is neglected. My simplistic view is that with a population about half that of the USA and growing very fast, with a much longer history and very rich culture, the amount of content for Nigeria should be at least half that of the USA. Obviously it is not. I am torn between just bashing out basic thumbnails to cover the leading political figures and taking the time to do more in-depth studies. The lack of good sources is a constraint. Anyway, thanks again. You have given me things to think about. Aymatth2 (talk) 01:06, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see you like maps and rivers. You may possibly be interested in Challawa Gorge Dam, Birim River, Kahayan River and maybe Inner Terai Valleys of Nepal. They all need work.Aymatth2 (talk) 01:57, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
