I think
[edit]I think that the end-of-December storm was a subtropical storm. Please include True or False. Weatherlover819 (talk) 10:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. On December 30 (my dad's birthday) I was fully expecting Tropical/Subtropical Storm Pablo and I think it was. See the discussion on the Hurricane Wiki. It had full banding features and good seperation from the upper level system that spawned it. I now plan to include it in my personal archives. -- §HurricaneERICarchive 22:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, based on those pictures and the symmetrical warm core analysis. In fact, I think it was a fully tropical storm. CrazyC83 (talk) 00:04, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. A subtropical storm can be such an iffy classification. IMO, they upgraded Andrea because it was a threat to land, though certainly it was more on the extratropical side of subtropicality. The storm at the end of December was better organized than Andrea, and moreover, lasted longer as a well-defined system. The NHC even classified it as "the low pressure system that attempted to be subtropical several days ago," not to mention how many STDS were released on it; on that basis, I thought it was guaranteed they would upgrade it. I still have a bit of hope, since the Erin TCR has not yet been released. That is important, since, in 2005, the Unnamed Storm was released on April 10th, and, IIRC, was not mentioned until something like the second to last TCR. FWIW, I sent the NHC an email a few weeks back on why they didn't include this one, and they still haven't responded. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:31, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hurricanehink- I got an email from NHC Public Affairs, and they said it wasn't SS. Weird, huh?
- Wait, when was the last TCR of 2005 released? Weatherlover819 (talk) 09:29, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- The last TCR in 2005 was that unnamed subtropical storm. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Really? I thought it was Beta...by a longshot. Hurricane Angel Saki My own personal NHC 10:28, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Beta's was on March 28th. The Unnamed storm was on April 10th. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:44, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hurricanehink- Let's call the December storm either 95L or "Ex-Pablo". Weatherlover819 (talk) 06:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- When I was talking about the unnamed storm, I was referring to the one in 2005. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

- I know. But this is a page on last year's storm, not the one in '05. Weatherlover819 (talk) 06:54, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- I know, but the storm in '05 was important, since its TCR was released after all of the other storms. However, as HURDAT has been released, I'm pretty sure that the storm won't be upgraded. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 13:50, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Does anyone think that there was another storm that might have been a TS, but not mentioned (Ok, I know it won't be upgraded, but I'm asking YO (your opinion). Weatherlover819 (talk) 03:43, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
