Hi, could you please point me to where this image has been released under a free license? J Milburn (talk) 20:52, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was this done by email? Could you possibly copy the relevant part of the email onto my talk page? J Milburn (talk) 22:34, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that this is so fiddly- could you possibly get him to email Wikipedia as explained here, just quickly say who he is, say that he owns the copyright to Remot.jpg on the English Wikipedia (it's important to say that it is the English Wikipedia) and to say (expressly) "I give permission for Remot.jpg to be released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license." Again, sorry it's so awkward, it's just that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. J Milburn (talk) 22:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, we can't just take your say-so that you have the rights to use images created by other people. J Milburn explained above what you need to have the rights holder do if he/she wants those images to be free for use here. I know it's a hassle, but try to understand that we need to make sure we use copyrighted images as little as possible. (ESkog)(Talk) 04:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Pikafire69! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 686 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Remot - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 21:38, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Remot has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significant coverage able to be found in independent reliable sources. Very difficult to find reliable sources online due to his name being so similar to the word Remote and the blog/forum/underground basis of his notability, but BLPs should be verified

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The-Pope (talk) 13:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Urban Sophisticates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. FiendYT 01:05, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
