Articles for deletion nomination of Dao (programming language)
[edit]I have nominated Dao (programming language), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dao (programming language). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Cybercobra (talk) 19:15, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry that I didn't read this message in time. But I have just read Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dao (programming language), I don't agree those are the strong reasons for deleting this article. There two reasons are mentioned for the deletion: 1. the name, is considered to be confusing with DAO which is the abbreviation of Data Access Object; 2. notability. I would say that there is no confusion with DAO, besides that they are spelled differently, they are too quite different things, they cannot be confused. If Go and Go! (programming language) can be co-exists on wikipedia (not to mention many other things called Go), why cannot Dao and DAO co-exists on wikipedia? For notability, please have a look at List of programming languages, I serious doubt if all of them have higher notability than Dao. Nevertheless, it is also my fault not watching that page, otherwise I could have try to improve that page in some way in time. I have wrote on the talk page of Cirt to ask for the possibility to restore that page. Phoolimin (talk) 02:28, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- I would still recommend against you recreating it due to your inherent conflict of interest as Dao's creator. I would recommend you read Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest rule: WP:COI --Cybercobra (talk) 20:22, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well, this point sound more convincing, in this case, I will just wait for somebody else to create an article on Dao.Phoolimin (talk) 05:07, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

The article FLAME clustering has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- conflict of interests (page author = algoritm author = code author linked below, Notability (no verifiable external references)
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 87.174.124.55 (talk) 01:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Dao language
[edit]Funny that Dao language is ultimately in Wikipedia | |
I also made programming language Ya and made an article in Wikipedia but they removed it quickly. So Ya is not visible but Dao is, because you somehow made your own page and inserted Dao language into the name of your page. How did you do that? Pavel Senatorov (talk) 16:26, 26 September 2013 (UTC) |
- I didn't insert it myself, it was moved there by somebody else. Dao is a little bit visible now, but certainly not because of this page. It's nice to have a wikipedia page for a new programming language, but not really necessary. Phoolimin (talk) 01:04, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Dao logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dao logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:17, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
