Turbulence.org
[edit]Hi Philippe. I see you were involved with the deletion of the Turbulence.org page last year because of copyright and promotions issues. I've just started a page on New Radio and Performing Arts, their parent organization, which I think is more along the lines of Wikipedia's guidelines. I was hoping you might give some feedback on it and, if you think it's good, unprotect Turbulence.org so that I can redirect to that page (I'm also happy if you leave it protected, but do the redirect yourself). If you think it's not so good, please tag/help me improve it. Thanks! NathanielS (talk) 21:49, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hi NathanielS -
- I'll try to take a moment to look at it, but you should probably request at the unprotection page to have it unprotected. Because I'm a staff member of the Foundation now, I'm trying not to get too involved in content issues. You should feel free to point to this message as proof that I have no objection to it being unprotected if another admin sees fit. - Philippe 23:02, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- will do, thanks! NathanielS (talk) 23:14, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Request for Protection
[edit]Would you please take a look at my request for protection? There are constant additions of unsourced material and it will remain like that for the next month. Thanks for your time. –Turian (talk) 21:30, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Who was Julio Marines?
[edit]You deleted his article, but who was he and how did he die (was he murdered)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.83.2.128 (talk) 00:50, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, no idea. - Philippe 23:36, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Please inspect the work of another Wiki administrator
[edit]Hello, could you inspect the work of Wikipedia administrator username: David Fuchs.
I made some changes to the articles about the original cast Star Trek movies and he reverted has them, i recieved a message from him regarding how he has reverted changes and when i checked the histories of the articles for the second, third and forth films in the series it is quite obvious that anyone who makes a change to any of the article Fuchs goes in an changes them back to how he likes them.
I have had several messages from him on my talk page and they are very childish, i have left replies on his (currently three of them) and he clearly has issues with anyone making changes to the article and is very rude and smarmy with his reasons.
Not a good administrator as his views should objective and not personal.
If you could investigate this please,
Regards
Zippyandgeorge (talk) 21:17, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't investigate Wikipedia administrators; I have no purview there. If you think he's being unfair, I encourage you to contact him first, and if that's unsatisfactory, consider the dispute resolution steps at WP:RfC. - Philippe 05:27, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Update 22.3.10
[edit]Thanks for the reply, i have contacted him in the past and have had no further reply from him!
I have also notice that on the article for Star Terk II: The wrath of Kahn someone has added information and once again he has reverted it to his own point of view.
Zippyandgeorge (talk) 11:27, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- I truly regret that you're not having a positive experience, but I'm unable to assist you with this matter. - Philippe 03:17, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Removal of PROD from Allysa Mendosa
[edit]Hello Philippe, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Allysa Mendosa has been removed. It was removed by 210.7.27.246 with the following edit summary '(made article a stub, Admins please move title to correct spelling "Alyssa Mendonsa")'. Please consider discussing your concerns with 210.7.27.246 before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:03, 23 March 2010 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages) 08:03, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Template
[edit]Would you reconsider the full protection for Template:Central_America_topic? The other user has stated that if he gets blocked he will return with new accounts. It is also important to notice that template is the base of several other templates (I think it is called transclussion). Look at his threat [1]. Also another administrator has already warned him but he just won't listen. Thank you. AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 17:46, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oh nevermind, the other admin that warned him already protected the template. Thanks anyway! AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 17:48, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I didn't see that comment. Under the circumstances, I would have protected. Glad someone else caught it. - Philippe 17:50, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I'm just worried that he will return to disrupt the page after the protection expires. AlexCovarrubias ( Talk? ) 18:04, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Chartontown
[edit]This user, whom you blocked indef as a VOA three years ago after two edits, has now returned and wants to be unblocked. I think we might be willing. Do you have any comment? Daniel Case (talk) 18:53, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
- "Two edits" means "two undeleted edits". I have also made a comment at User talk:Chartontown. JamesBWatson (talk) 18:28, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- I have no comment, and decline to opine. :) - Philippe 03:45, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
About that suicide threat
[edit]Do you think its wise to have blocked that anon? From a strictly human point of view, shouldn't we let that IP continue making edits to, you know, make sure he's alive? - Amog | Talk • contribs 19:13, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
- Based on checkuser evidence, it was the correct decision. :) Regardless, we usually block threateners of suicide. See this section for more information. - Philippe 01:50, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Because checkuser showed the IP was from a school? I mean, the policy makes sense and all, but I can't help from thinking that if a person was actually holed up in school, using WP as his outlet before he attempts self harm, then blocking him will only exacerbate the issue! - Amog | Talk • contribs 06:40, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. I'm not at liberty to reveal everything that was in the checkuser log, but it's not simply that it was a school. There were valid reasons for blocking and contact was made with appropriate authorities to ensure the safety of the originator of the threat. I'm sorry that I can't say more to make you feel better, but know that we don't make those decisions lightly and it was discussed with Zack Exley (WMF's Chief Community Officer) prior to taking the actions that we did. - Philippe 23:03, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, Okay. Glad to know there was more to it! :) - Amog | Talk • contribs 07:46, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
