José de Gálvez

[edit]

Hi Phil,

I wanted to alert you to some more information I found about José de Gálvez's later career, in the Council of the Indies. While looking over your French user page, I also noticed a controversy about whether he worked for the embassy in Paris or Madrid. I can't check my original source because I am still away from home, but I did find an on-line source that says it was the French embassy in Madrid. I don't know if that was my mistake (probably) or a mistake in my original source, but I apologize for it. I've changed it here. I don't know what the situation is in the French Wikipedia.

I noticed you've been taking some time off from editing. I will have to do that myself soon. I am going in for major surgery in about a week.

What Happened?

[edit]

Hi Phil, what happened at the French Wikipedia? I tried to follow the discussion there at your talk page using automatic translation, but that wasn't very helpful. I hope everything gets resolved quickly, and you're soon back at work.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
