Problems encountered while translating
[edit]- Quotes: translating song lyrics is really hard! Also: Do you translate song titles?
- Quotes: What to do when you don't have the primary source and cannot say with certainty what is meant in the German version
- Vocabulary: Dictionaries are not entirely reliable when it comes to choosing a word suitable for that exact sentence
- Tense! What to do with a German "bereits" (already?) in an English sentence in the past?!
- It is detective work. E.g.: Auf der Plattenschutzhülle sind alle Liedtexte schwarz auf weiß abgedruckt. What is the Plattenschutzhülle? The vinyl cover, the inner sleve? Answer: search for it on ebay and check pictures ;) Found it here!
- Song Lyrics and Titles: Do you keep them? When does it make sense to translate? How do you effectively present them?
- Different criteria for the same award (Goldene Schallplatte). Der Link macht nicht mehr unbedingt Sinn... Der Preis an sich aber schon. Was tun?
- Massive language issues: Erms! Too much special vocab such as: "Entspringen", "Stirnseitental", "Wasserscheide". Too much uncertainty without the help of a native speaker.
- Info boxes: What info is which? (Texter=Lyricist? Writer=Komponist? ...)
- Konjunktiv!!! Wow. Just wow!
- "Ohrwurm"

[edit]Menschen Leben Tanzen Welt
[edit]You might want to have another look at the template. As per your revert, the article is being translated from the "menschen leben tanzen welt-language Wikipedia". Now, I'll admit there's a lot of languages out there I don't know the details of, but "Menschen leben tanzen welt" is a new language to me if that's what you're intending it to say. As I'd edited the template, it was being translated from the "German-language Wikipedia", which at least has the advantage of being a description of the language in which the larger article is to be found.
