Teaching with wikis
[edit]Actually, I'm not teaching now either--the current climate is not friendly to those of us who would actually like to accomplish something in the classroom. >_<
I used Wikipedia at school in the past; in fact, I required my students to begin their research projects with Wikipedia--as I told them, if they weren't able to find an article about their topic here, it wasn't noteworthy enough to find it anywhere on-line. (Our school and community libraries are poor; we were forced to use the Internet for the bulk of our research.)
I wish I had realized before that we could have made our own wiki.
What made you quit teaching?
Anyway, thanks for the tip! I'll pass it along next time I talk to my former colleagues. :) IrisWings 22:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Wow, a virtual school? I have no experience with that sort of thing, but I suspect it wouldn't work well with theater (the other portion of my licensure). :P
- Good luck! ^_^ IrisWings 19:50, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- Currently I'm not working because I'm trying to undergo a career change. I had wanted to teach since I was eight years old, and I'm afraid the transition hasn't been very smooth so far. I have a lot of interests, but I'm not sure which one I would like to pursue.
- This is the list of userbox categories.[1] There are a couple different ways to add them to your page, but I used a table. IrisWings 20:51, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- lol Looks like you're familiar with D&D too. :P
- What is your current job? :) Maybe you should put in on your userpage, as part of your little bio. IrisWings 21:18, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
lol I feel sorry for the DM in the video. :P
What do you have to do for certification? I only had to take the Praxis II, complete my student teaching, and make a portfolio. IrisWings 06:18, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
