[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Eliot Higgins. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. .During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. NeilN talk to me 22:31, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Oops, yes, my bad. I reinstated my work too many times. Sorry. Can I please be unblocked and I promise that I'll discuss the issue with the other editors on the talk page?
Accept reason:

I'm willing to unblock if you undo your last reversion and start using the talk page. --NeilN talk to me 22:48, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
I promise. Sorry, I'm new here.--Ph1ll1phenry talk to me 22:56, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Please do not forget the other half of your agreement. --NeilN talk to me 23:05, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

- Done. BTW, if the person who keeps rolling back my contribution does not respond, am I free to reinstate it? Can you please point me in the direction of the rules for this kind of thing? Once more, my apologies. --Ph1ll1phenry talk to me 23:11, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- There are multiple editors reverting you so I expect at least one to respond. If no one responds within a couple of days you can try reinstating it. Further options are outlined at WP:DRR. BTW, I moved your question to the bottom of the section - posts are added chronologically. --NeilN talk to me 23:22, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

WP:RfC last for about 30 days then an admin or someone will read it and give a ruling and close it. Consensus doesn't mean everyone agrees, we just give our opinions and the closer decides who has the strongest case and best course of action. -- GreenC 13:36, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
Are you manually signing?
[edit]Hey Phillip. This edit made me notice that you might be manually inserting your signature and timestamp. Are you aware that you can use four tildes (~~~~) to insert the signature and timestamp for you? Stickee (talk) 13:01, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I didn't know that. I will do that from now on. Ph1ll1phenry (talk) 06:12, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
