I've taken the opportunity to shorten the title of the article. I hope your article can be approved after a few adjustments - it seems well researched and sourced! Sionk (talk) 01:13, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Fair enough, Sionk, will de-puff as you suggest - the project's intent was to construct five houses from CRM's unused sketch drawings, three were done (not bad), two weren't (a shame but, given the fuss at the time, surely worth a mention). The art business, fine - I'll dump all that. PeterTumbleweed (talk) 14:10, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Articles of this length generally need a lede paragraph which summarises the subject. If the gatehouses were part of the project, perhaps they should be mentioned in context, early in the article. The Artist's Town House is currently described as an afterthought, in a completely different location (though using the experience of the other projects).
- Judging by the number of sources you have accessed (and the importance of CRM), I expect you could easily write separate articles on these separate buildings. In my opinion it would be a very useful contribution to Wikipedia! I'm sure you've already noticed the CRM article has a section about his unbuilt designs, where you could probably mention these other projects. All the best! Sionk (talk) 15:40, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Had a go at re-drafting the piece, no shorter (I'm afraid), but all the strands are there in one bundle (I know, tangents etc, but they arose from the same circle, the building of The Artist's Cottage). Anyway, I await your comments... PeterTumbleweed (talk) 19:22, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I still find the article confusing and would decline it again. In my view you need to be clear about your subject, explain what it is and try not to deviate from it too much. I'll wait with interest to see the opinion of another editor. Sionk (talk) 22:44, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Thought so. Damn! (...and I'd just got used to working the software) S'pose, unless A N Other is OK with it, it's a scissor job, or do the sections separately. PeterTumbleweed (talk) 10:01, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

- Don't seem to be getting anywhere with this.PeterTumbleweed (talk) 13:43, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- After all that, maybe you should follow our advice (and mine above). Presumably you are Peter Tovell, the client for the 'project'? It would explain your enthusiasm and access to the many sources! Sionk (talk) 14:41, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- I am, but thought I'd suppressed the enthusiasm! The sources - all 'secondary' (surely?), a whole lot of journalists who made their own independent observations, positive as it happens (but nothing to do with me). It's a shame the articles weren't digitised and, therefore, can't be 'retrieved'. Wouldn't need to write anything at all if that were the case. No one nowadays wants to sift through dusty cellars looking for backnumbers. Thanks for your advice, difficult as I find it to follow!PeterTumbleweed (talk) 17:12, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Pol430 talk to me 18:56, 5 April 2012 (UTC)- Thanks, Pol430. I'll sort out that infobox - and should try a separate article on architect Macintyre (who died fifteen years ago). PeterTumbleweed (talk) 19:54, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Sionk (talk) 02:36, 22 April 2012 (UTC)- Thanks, Sionk. I'll add a piece on the existing Charles Rennie Mackintosh article under 'Unbuilt Designs' shortly. PeterTumbleweed (talk) 15:29, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
