Speedy deletion nomination of Robert L McMurrer
[edit]A tag has been placed on Robert L McMurrer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 23:30, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry case
[edit]You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rmcmurrer for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. ttonyb (talk) 23:58, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay Then
[edit]Hi there. You should know that if you aren't Robert McMurrer, you are doing him a great disservice by continuing to post information that the Wikipedia community has already seen fit to remove three times today. You've already seen the outcome of these actions in the blocking of the Robert McMurrer page, which will make it sufficiently difficult to write an article about the guy should he ever become notable enough for Wikipedia. Some very helpful people have tried to point you and User:Rmcmurrer towards Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines as to what makes a subject notable. It's very simple. Read WP:BIO and WP:CREATIVE to determine for yourself if you have given any information that verifies he is notable for inclusion on Wikipedia. Any reasonable reviewer can see that you have not done this yet. Specifically, MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, fanpages and any website like those do not count as reliable sources. Ask yourself: has McMurrer ever been written about in an honest-to-goodness newspaper or magazine? Has anyone not affiliated with him ever considered him newsworthy enough to merit mention in a secondary source? There are so many places on the internet where you can tell McMurrer's story as you have currently written it. Sadly, Wikipedia is not one of those places. Status
[edit]As reviewing administrator, I have deleted the page, and protected it against re-creation. DGG ( talk ) 03:57, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
=How to proceed
[edit]I have made a sub-page for you in your own user space User:PeteSmith81/Robert McMurrer. You may try to write the article there. Be certain to include several references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. You mention in your note to me some publications with stories about him. Find the exact references and put them in. Please remember that they must have "substantial coverage. Do not worry too much about formatting the references, but try to include both the reference to the print form and a link to an online version.
Then let me know on my talk page. I can help you with the procedure. If I think it might be OK I will move it to main space, and there can be another AfD discussion on it. If I think it is still not OK, I will tell you--if you wish to challenge it, you would then take it to WP:Deletion Review. You have the right to take the matter to Deletion Review now, but you are very much more likely to succeed if you do the best possible article on the user subpage first. In neither case do I make the final decision, but rather the community, and some other administrator will evaluate the result.
Before you start, I suggest you read WP:BIO and our guide to writing Wikipedia articles. You might also want to check the relevant parts of the free online version of How Wikipedia Works by Phoebe Ayers, Charles Matthews, and Ben Yates (also available in print) .
Do be aware that the way you have done it so far by repeated insertions has created a considerable amount of skepticism about the article, so make sure the article on the sub-page is as strong as possible before asking others to look at it. (In fact, many administrators here would probably have blocked your account, not just protected the article.)
And one other thing. Do not use two accounts. Use only this one. I;'ve added my comment at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Rmcmurrer. DGG ( talk ) 18:26, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
