Speedy deletion nomination of User:Peninsula Hot Springs
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Peninsula Hot Springs, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Peninsula hot springs
[edit]Hello Peninsula Hot Springs,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Peninsula hot springs for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Meiloorun (talk) 🍁 00:21, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... this page is for an informative and educative purpose only and not for advertising. The page is still being edited to meet the guidelines of the Wikipedia. Please do not delete. Peninsula Hot Springs (talk) 00:59, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- There are a whole stack of problems here:
- Your only sources are to a website of a commercial enterprise. That is advertising, despite your claims to the contrary.
- Your userpage is not an encyclopedia article. It is meant for you, as an individual, to write a small amount of biographical information about you and your Wikimedia-related activities. There are rules about what is and what is not allowed, and Self-promotion is one of the "not allowed" things.
- Your account name is that of a business, which violates Wikipedia's username policy. That alone is grounds for blocking, unless you request a change of username.
- Writing about your own business is a conflict of interest, and is highly discouraged, for reasons explained in Wikipedia's plain and simple conflict of interest guide and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. If you are writing about your business as a paid employee or representative, you must disclose this fact per Wikipedia's rules on paid editing.
- You have copied the website word-for-word, and the material is copyrighted. Use of copyrighted material on Wikipedia is not allowed, for any reason. You cannot use copyrighted material here, even if you are the copyright holder, unless you agree to donate it under a license that is compatible with Wikipedia's. Note that if you release the text, you do so permanently and irrevocably.

[edit]There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. — ξxplicit 01:50, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
