{{help me}} I have 2 Questions

  1. Is wikimarkup the same as HTML5?
  2. Are there any tutorials on the coding where I will learn the basics?

Pediconem (talk) 20:17, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimarkup is a simplified alternative/intermediate to HTML5, and therefore can be considered different from HTML5. This "cheatsheet" is worth a read and any questions specially about Wikimarkup can be directed here.
Popping over to the Teahouse, a place for new editors is also worth a visit- I cannot put into words how much it help me! If you require any more help, contact me again! Explore Wikipedia to the full, Chihin.chong (biscuits and tea) 20:10, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Chemung County, New York may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave my operator a message on his talk page. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 16:04, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Next time could you please post on my talk page!

[edit]

Next time could you please post on my talk page because somehow, when you type Helpme, I don't receive it and it doesn't come up in my notifications, so if you post back, I really only know by luck! Thanks, Chihin.chong (biscuits and tea) 20:24, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Categories to Articles

[edit]

Hi, I saw your question asking for advice about which categories to add for articles. In general, I recommend to start by looking at categories for similar articles. Check the "parent" categories and sub categories to see where your article belongs. For example, Category:Schools in Elmira, New York. There was already a category for Schools in Chemung County and Buildings and structures in Elmira, New York, and Schools in Elmira is clearly a sub category for both of these parents. Articles should generally be put in the appropriate sub categories so as not to clutter the parent category. Hope this helps! Jllm06 (talk) 10:44, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
