Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Pearlblogger, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Akoya pearls, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Akoya pearls requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help with article review

[edit]

How can I get my article review before posting? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pearlblogger (talkcontribs) 19:02, 13 September 2010

(edit conflict)

When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time. You can also do this by clicking the 'sign' button, pictured to the right.
If you make a userspace draft and write the article there, you can ask for feedback in WP:FEED and/or use a {{helpme}} to ask for checks. You could also use the article wizard, which will put a new article through the articles for creation process.
Before creating an article, however, I suggest editing other, existing articles first - to get used to Wikipedia.
When ready to create an article, please read carefully through WP:FIRST. Best,  Chzz  ►  19:09, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help re Word

[edit]

{{helpme}}

I have it in a word format. Where can I save it as a draft on Wikipedia for your review?

Pearlblogger (talk) 21:44, 13 September 2010 (UTC)pearlblogger[reply]

Please put it into User:Pearlblogger/draft. Click on that red link to make that subpage. And then, when you want someone to look at it, use another {{helpme}} - but please put it at the end of this page! Thanks.  Chzz  ►  21:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article is posted on User:Pearlblogger/draft. Please review it and let me know if it violates any Guidelines.

Pearlblogger (talk) 22:02, 13 September 2010 (UTC)pearlblogger[reply]

Please ask on WP:FEED for feedback. Helpme is not for this use. Thanks. --Diego Grez (talk) 22:15, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(another reply...)
It needs more references. Live articles need multiple references to reliable sources, to show why the topic is notable - see WP:VRS.
Currently, it only has one reference, and that is not enough.
The references should give full details, so that the person reading the article can check the facts - so, if Elisaeth Strack, "Pearls" is a book, please give the publisher, date, and ISBN.
It will help if you use inline references, to show where each fact comes from;
